With so many believing that touching an Anschutz barrel ruins it it may make a difference.....

Aside from the possibility (incorrect IMO) of the barrel being somehow of lesser quality after threading for a can you still have the best trigger in the world with the 5018.....again - IMO anyway....

I am sure it can be done correctly but EVERY one I have seen looks like hell. Crowns messed up or non-existent.

I think this rifle will get snatched up by someone on snipershide.com once they get wind of it. In fact, that might be where this is coming from. The 54msr has gained quite the reputation as a "trainer" over there because of the famous 5018 trigger. There are more than a few guys on that forum that have been looking for a 54MSR for a 1yr or more.

Extra magazine - $15 if Savage, $40 if Anschutz
Dryfire firing pin - $100+
Boreguide - $20??
Shooting glove - depends on if it fits and what kind it is I guess
Singleshot adapter - $ I have no idea
Weaver scope bases - $10

I think people in general have a tendency to think of shooting sports other than the one they participate in as being somehow lesser ....and that these others that shoot these "lesser" sports have no need - or business - shooting a quality gun. If you look at the "tactical crowd" you will find that the guns that you find there (sniper/tactical) are high end - high dollar guns with a gun under 1K being the rarity and 5K guns not at all uncommon.

We, as Silhouette Shooters, are a tiny splinter group compared to the tactical crowd.....If a rifle gets hot in that group of people you will see thousands sold.... not the few that we silhouette shooters, as a consumer group, use/buy.....
