Ho'boy....that is one old beauty classic rifle...Bob..you are selling it for way to cheap for what is is. I had a 9422 purchased new in 1979. Had the new configuration. Straight lever design and funky checkred wood. Loved it, now sorry I sold it, and even shot an angry, aggressive bat at dusk walking down a tree lined trail, levering the dang thing from the hip, while hunting grouse one fall afternoon.

I know it is priced on the low side, Marv. There are dozens of them up for sale on the various web sites, mostly the plain ones. I saw only three XTR Classics all priced near $900. and none as pretty as mine. They have been up for sale for many months at that price. Some one will get a good deal on a nice rifle.

That sounds like some fancy shootin on that bat...something like Chuck Conners would do on the Rifleman TV show. 8)

No family ties to this one, Marv. At 85 Dad is alive and kicking and does not care what I do with it. I am staring down 60 my self and have no plans to get into lever gun silhouette. I'm a bolt gun nut. My two grown daughters ain't gun folk and have no kids to pass it on to. It has been in the safe for 10 years and is always in the way of grabbing a bolt gun , so screw it .... it has to go. :)

Bob, you don't have to stand for this kind of abusive language. We all know that the Guru cannot and does not age.

Winchester sold this model for 2 years. I think it was 1980 and 82.

I have one just like it. Mine's quite a shooter. I once put a scope on it and put 5 SK+'s into 3/4" at 100yds. One time event, first attempt to shoot a group and after that success I took off the scope and put the peeps back on.

The price is right. Hang onto it until it sells.

Thanks for the post, Joe. I was hoping to see it go to a "family" member here to get used for silhouette. It may have to go on Gunbroker next week to sell to a total stranger.

Partial trades considered involving the following in good condition:
***A Remington 700 rifle, SA .308 boltface. NO Black SPS guns, stainless OK.
***Leupold fixed 12X target w/knobs, any finish, either reticle.
***Leupold 6.5-20X std. or EFR any finish or reticle.
***Leupold FX series fixed powers.

What 'cha got ? :D

Mary, Sara said not a chance of your adoption. Says she is all I can handle. =((
Trent, what can I say....no way dude. :ymsick: Better luck in Georgia. :))

Aw come on McAlice, Sara can handle another daughter, especially one that likes the same kind of toys Dad likes.
Trent, guess we are both thrown out, all because of "Mom", she doesn't loves us anymore.
