24 to 32 power range depending on the lighting and wind conditions.

I aggree with Mary,
i shoot 24x in HP, 30x in small bore.Have shot with 36X but on a bad day can be a bitch to hold, 30 much better. People i shoot with use the 6.5x20 EFR and do very well with this 20 magnification.

Straight 24x in both smallbore and highpower. Same Pharr RTS stocks cut to the same dimensions and the same Weaver T24 scopes with the same 1/2 minute dots.

My wife, Twilla Toney, was just short of making Master when she became too ill to continue. She taught me to use 12X and it has worked VERY well for me.

I think shooting with too much power causes a lot of shooters to give this sport up. If you haven't tried the lower power, try it. The animals are still plenty large to get a good sight picture on and sure jump less.

Ditto and good advice George. Had the 18x40's Premier built and went back to 6.5x20's and the majority of the time down under 20 power.

Now I did try Jerry's 60X a few years back and the animals were a lot bigger, but running really really fast ;) =))

I have a fixed 24x on my HP and shoot both of my SB guns around 36x. Hard to tell with the Thomas bump.

I use fixed 24x on my smallbore and I think it is perfect (for me). I have a 6.5-20x on my highpower rifle as I plan on using it for hunting as well.

I would have liked to go fixed 24x on my HP rifle but I will give up a couple X's so that I can get more use out of one gun.

6.5-20x EFR on HP
straight 24x on SB

I think 24x is maximum power for me. If the wind blows, as it often does in TX, I like to use less power.

I can't hold over 15-18x, after 20 years. AA in most classes.
