Slow day

I see that there are several of us on, slow day fellows???
I am actually working, both inside and outside, not enough sun here today.

Just back from Zwolle, and I don't want to start anything I may have to finish. My way of looking at it is they showed up for monday and broke it let them figure it out and I'll simply put in my .02 cents at the right time. Timing is everything when the network is down.

John,

Oh, don't get me wrong I am productive I have single handly made more people mad today at what happened to the servers than one man should be humanly allowed, I think and correct me if I'm wrong Innocent, cause I've only been at this goverment stuff for 27+ years, it is called stirring the pot, and I'll be damned if it ain't at a hard boil right now. I can see now that if I interject a few key points before my timely departure it will all boil over and be a fine mess upon my timely arrival in the morning.

Just to share one of my key point before I leave will be "You have many choices right now and all of them suck". You can see how well my personallity meshes with this job.

I really do love this job.

I should have taken those classes......I've got stuff I need to do, don't want to do, have to do.......and then I have to priorize (sp?) all this stuff. Then you add in my laziness factor, don't care factor, not my problem factor, sounds like a personal problem to me factor.......Mix in the notion that my name is on the door and the sign outside and if I don't wan't to do it I don't have to..........You've got the makings of a pretty unproductive day spent on steelchickens trying to figure out what makes Chiken George such a stud.........

Next month I will have 23 years in with the Federal Government. I once thought that I would retire early to just get out and find another private sector job before the craziness affects me permanently. Everything the government buys us does not work and the purchasing folks will not listen to our input on what works and what to buy. EEO and Affirmative Action keeps people from being hired who want to work and have the skills and knowledge to do the work. Bums who do nothing are hired instead. Now, I think I will stay a long time just to be a thorn in the side of those who command. My main problem is that I cannot get leave when we need to go to the big Smallbore Matchs. I am still trying to maneuver my way into another job at the same facility so that when I take leave is less critical. Just my .02 as they say.

And who else whould you have be the task master other than an old retired Sgt. with an attitude. Guess I retired just in time Sen. Kerry would have me sent to Irak cause I'm so slow and unlearneded, and he calls himself a Veteran. All I know is at the local VFW last night we voted to send him an invite to be a guest speaker. I think it will be enlighting for both parties......think he will make it.......LMAO.

Culpepper: You may be a slow, unlearned, retired and obnoxious noncom but if we are ever in a situation where it all hits the fan, I think all of us would really like to have you on our 6 with something potent. Kerry is not coming. He does not want to be around the common man who did his duty and served his country. They are not sending you to Iraq because you would not "play fair" with the enemy. On another subject, is our military still using FMJ Geneva Convention ammo in the A4 carbines? Last time I was at a military facility I forgot to ask. If I had to use the FMJ .223 stuff in house to house clearing, I would carry a small file with me and in my spare time file just the jacket off the front tip of the bullet to improve expansion. Would you guys do this also? What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks, and I'd take point with a 50cal. just to hear the old pig snort again would be music to my ears. I hope he shows, old gunney has a few words he'd like to say.
Yes the old FMJ is standared issue, but then again what the SO boys get is a little more non geneva ammo weapon combo, so a little horse trading here and there and whata ya know your in business. Best motto " If caught, blame it on the last enemy sniper you caught and was about to turn it in."

I'd like to add this last part for all my fallen brothers, I think of them everday,

Rest easy, sleep well my brothers. Know the line has held, your job is done. Rest easy, sleep well. Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held. Peace, peace, and farewell...

You can all rest easy tonight because a soldier is on watch. God bless them

Culpepper: Funny you mentioned the .50 cal. First thing Monday morning friend across the hall at work mentioned the old pig had done quite well this weekend in the capable hands of his 19 year old nephew in Iraq. He said when the nephew lets a few well placed rounds go, everything quiets down in a hurry. I said you know the rules say you cannot use the .50 cal. on personnel, only vehicles and buildings. Friend smiled and said "Yeah right" and kept walking down the hall.
