SB-HP 2015 Nationals info
Just got off the phone ( land line type
) with Mr Oneil, silhouette committee member. NO TRUTH to the rumor this summer that Raton gets HP and SB permanently.
Both will be in Ridgway next year sometime in July ? The meeting was brief this time, he left before the dates were set. They will continue with the rotation as have been doing. Great news for the easterners, no so much for us westerners. Looks like I will be doing Missoula again in 2015
Now JB can make plans with his place of ......WORK
Go north young man.
Lee told me July but I see Al F. states August.
Guess we will have to wait for an official announcement.

Not unless you have 10 banks for both smallbore and high power. Greg would throw out your app.....Snake wrote:You know with the poor attendance (last year 70?) I could host the nationals

I must admit I am little disappointed. I live about 3.5 hours away from NRA Whittington so having it there every year would have been rather nice.

Don't feel bad we are well over 1000 miles each way to Either Place! Yet I still think of Montana before either if I am going to travel by air.DavidABQ wrote:I must admit I am little disappointed. Trespassers will be shot.
Survivors will be shot again!

Hunter's Pistol has tentative dates but is expected to be stricken by Budget and Finance.Grizz61 wrote:Has anyone heard anything about Hunters Pistol?
If it is dropped as anticipated a club would need to step up and run it as a club match like what Dustin is doing with Air Rifle.

I can get the 10 SB banks....I had them once when we bid for SB and were rejected because of the desire to keep HP and SB together. Interestingly both have declined in participation since that policy went into effect....maybe that just happened! But when SB moved around the country more folks got involved and that spilled over into HP.OldRanger wrote:Not unless you have 10 banks for both smallbore and high power. My evidence of this is purely anecdotal

Preachin to the choir brotha! Requiring 10 banks is idiotic, and forcing SB and HP together, while handy, shouldn't be a requirement. I think they did that just so the NRA could make money hosting the event at Whittington Center.Snake wrote:I can get the 10 SB banks....I had them once when we bid for SB and were rejected because of the desire to keep HP and SB together. Are you saying the all the NRA cares about is money!
Please say it is not true!
I am so disillusioned! I feel like I did as a kid when I found out there is no Tooth Fairy!
I like shooting nationals at NRA Whittington. Close to home for me.

Re: SB-HP 2015 Nationals info
Back several years ago 10 banks were needed as we had 3 times the numbers at the Nationals, like everything else times change and so do the minimum requirements. With the numbers we have been seeing and taking into consideration some clubs run their matches more efficiently then the NRA does, 10 banks now seems like an overkill and hinders other clubs from hosting.OldRanger wrote:Preachin to the choir brotha! Re: SB-HP 2015 Nationals info
I'm not all that sure the NRA is about money as opposed to just making it easier for their people that run the Nationals...if they were about money the declining numbers in Silhouette would concern them and they would be more proactive in soliciting awards etc. to drum up interest. I'll bet that if we go back to letting SB go to various clubs around the country independent of HP....more folks would get into silhouette....now it comes across as a cliquish -closed group where you have to travel long ways to shoot SB......
