What are your match fees?

I am curious to see how match fees differ around the country, even the globe. So, I will start off this topic.

I run the HP program here in CO. I took over as MD in 2004 when fees were $18.00 for two rifles. Ten for one, eight for the second. Attendance was down so I reduced the second gun fee five years ago to $5.00 or $15.00 total for a 2 x 40 shot match. It has been this price ever since. My club asks for a 50/50 split of money taken in for each match. I give out cash awards to the class winners based on attendance. The club provides us an old pickup truck for range set up, tear down and resets. They even fill the gas tank most of the time. Often times I dump in 5 gallons on my dime. The shooters reset their own targets for a monthly club match, setters are provided at our state match.

Our monthly club match fee is $15.00 for two 40 shot matches.
Our yearly state match fee is $35.00 for two 60 shot matches.

I do not expect to raise fees any time soon. Our numbers are stable, maybe on the increase a little.

So, lets hear from MD's and competitors alike about your match fees.

Smallbore matches in Louisiana/Mississippi are $5 total for Biloxi on 1st Saturday, Pearlington on 3rd Saturday, St. Bernard on 3rd Sunday and Gonzales on 4th Saturday.

Highpower is $10 total for Ventress on 2nd Saturday and free for scaled HP match at Gonzales on 4th Saturday as long as you shoot SB beforehand.

Airgun is $5 total for 2nd Sunday and free every Wednesday evening, all in Baton Rouge.

Cowboy (SB & PC) is $8 total for 1st Sunday in Gonzales (but we have a target setter). We are about to add CLA to our 2nd Saturday Ventress HP match which will be $10 or free if you shot the HP match.

Wow ...We charge $20 for the 1st 40 $10 for the 2nd or $30 for both...you can shoot STD on one and hunter on one and no change in cost. But I have 3-4 target setters and a range truck...even with 24 shooters we can get done by 2pm with a 10 am start. Since we are a 501C corporation the target setters are on workers comp, everything is insured, and we can't give out cash-- we can send out a check and a 1099!!! IF my costs are covered. And we have a lot of amenities ....I'm not paid and even so I need 7-8 shooters to break even without awards! If at years end I show a loss...I start losing match dates....there's always some other discipline looking to take my dates. We are a competition/ community service organization with 1100 members and 22 law enforcement/military groups ...... :-? Did I mention repairs?

In missoula our monthly smallbore is $5 for one gun, $9 for 2. I don't shoot HP so I don't know how much more for those. No awards, no target setters.

The Ironman (don't forget June 7&8, sign up now!) is $50 for one, 70 for 2, 90 for 3 and 110 for all four. Target setters and trophy's.

I don't remember what are state match was last year, but its more than our monthly. And they handed out cash for the winners.

Central FL R&P $10 and Chuluota $5. I might mention that FL clubs are now being pushed to pay taxes on entries and club dues, due to some reading of 1993 IRS rules.

I think you see our dilemma . we are the dreaded 501c corp and thus must mind our manners and our accounting, our insurance, our workers comp etc....no more paying cash from the kitty---the auditors won't stand for it. And you all know how popular shooting organizations are with Uncle Sugar 8-}

Tacoma Sportsments club charges $5 per gun for the first saturday practice match and $7 per gun for the NRA registered match.

We don't give out 5 or 10 in a row pins at the practice match and this is the one newbies typically come out to as well as guys like Shaun and Mike show up at with iron sighted Win 52's and the like.

We charge $10 per gun for both classes of smallbore rifle silhouette, smallbore cowboy, pistol cartridge cowboy, smallbore hunter's pistol and hunter's pistol. We give out awards in the form of $10 for match winner and $5 for class winners of each class (combined with next higher class for classes of less than 3 shooters).

On Vancouver Island, Nanaimo & District Fish and Game Protective Association and Victoria Fish and Game Protective Association both have monthly small bore matches.

Fees are $5 per rifle for 2, 40 shot matches. Volunteer match directors. Shooters reset targets. Bragging rights are prize enough.

5 and 10 pins awarded to B.C. Target Sports Association members.

BC Provincial championship is $45 per rifle for 3, 40 shot matches.

Canadian National championship is $60 per rifle for 3, 40 shot matches.

Once a month Saturday NRA Tournament: $10.00 per rifle, Sr. $5.00 per gun which will change to $10.00 in 2015.
Award pins only. Match Winner, 1st, 2nd, 3rd. 5 and 10 pins. Extra money left over after paying the NRA, goes to our club.

Our NRA approved matches every Thursday eve has "0" cost. Award 5 and 10 pin for $2.00. That's it.
