Brutal Honesty

I took my 4 1/2 year old son to the range today with me for the first time. He had fun setting up all the silhouette targets, and I let him pull the trigger a few times off of a bench. It was great getting him out there, then he became my little spotter buddy while I shot a practice round. The comments from that age range are always honest. Funny that the comments were only about the misses!
These were all his direct words: "You hit the dirt daddy" "Did you aim at that one?" "Try hitting it next time" and my favorite "Aim harder!"

I personally like the, " Did you aim at that one?" The "Try hitting it next time" is also a great one.

I heard all those and a lot more colorful sayings from my spotter in Arkansas this weekend!
He is off to a good start. Before he is old enough to drive he will have a playbook full of sayings to slight other shooters
Get him working on the mind game now!
Kids always give an honest critique. Sounds like you got a new one hooked, now just reel him in!

a not so young ,and gone now hunters pistol shooter from New Hampshire,was spotting and said."Now hit these they are really hard to spot".
I'll never forget that,or him.

Hermit that sounds like John Livingston. He was a great mentor to many many shooters and had a huge hand in getting silhouette to were it is in NH.

Hermit check out the YouTube video that was done by Ruger. They did a bunch of different videos highlighting a verity of disciplines and silhouette was one of them with John as the star!
And no matter how hard I aim I still miss!

Hermit I don't know how to put the link up but search for " A beginners guide to silhouette". Shows the pioneer sportsman clubs ranges where the regional is held too.
If you can find it.....search harder! LOL
