I know several people who use them on pistols and love them. They have a long long battery life.

For a rifle, I think they would be very good, for pistol I am not a fan. The tube diameter is too small. I like the size of the tasco pro-porint II. Which you can buy two or three of these for the cost.

I've got one, and know many more people that have them. Its a tough little sight that is great on an M4. I keep mine on and have only had to replace the battery once in about 4 years. I don't know what you would want to use it for, but I would recommend it for a rifle any day.
