Using 7mm-08 brass for .260 Rem?

So I have a sizable supply of 7mm-08 cases but I shoot a ton of 6.5 Swede, so looking forward to consolidate bullet purchases, I'm considering that when a re-barrel becomes necessary, stepping down to .260 Rem (Sorry Bob :ympeace: )

The question: Can I conveniently use my 7mm-08 cases without a lot of work?

Easy . maybe . In factory chambers I have done just that with more more work than maybe an extra bit of trimming. BUT, a custom barrel may have a tighter chamber and require that the neck be reamed/turned. The same could be true in factory barrel but I have not ran across it . Also brass neck thickness may make a difference too.

The simple answer is YES. Depending on how hot of load you are shooting you may have to turn the necks a lot sooner than when you use factory 260 brass.

Mike, I have used lots of Rem 7-08 brass in my .260 Rem with no problem.
