I ordered a Savage 11FCNS 7MM08 ACS DBM SYN from Bud's and Bud's sent me tracking, that is unusual, they usually send tracking to the FFL.

I watched the status today, in the depot, on the truck, no one home, on the truck will try tomorrow.

Oh well, it is winter in northern michigan, not like I'm taking it shooting any time soon but I'd like to have it and mount the rail and scope, maybe make clicking noises aiming at some reduced silhouette targets down the hall.

I have a question, since this has a plastic stock that have no love of, can I bondo it up to get it to fit me, paint it black and shoot it in hunter class? I've read the rule about attachments, what is an attachment and what is a permanent stock modification, is it only minus work and no plus work to be legal on a stock?

Bondo-ing is fine as long as you don't raise the cheek past the center line of the bore. And all those other pesky rules about forearm dimension etc.

Just make sure it looks like a "HUNTER RIFLE" whatever that looks like.

I would recommend looking into the neoprene slip over comb raiser that is sold by Bear Creek IIRC, its made by "Bear" something and sold at Bass Pro and Cabela's for around $20. It comes with several different thicknesses of pad you can mix and match. It allows you to roll the cheek over to the side and keep you within the rules of not extending above the bore centerline. Gives you a very good cheek weld that is solid and doesn't move around on the stock. Plus if you leave a little stubble on the face it really anchors your cheek well to the neoprene

I used one when I first got into Silhouette using a CZ452 that had virtually no comb roll and it makes it more comfortable as well and isn't cold on the cheek if you are shooting during the winter time. Check them out I highly recommend it for a cheap easy fix that can be removed and not something you have to mess with making permanent.
