I am happy to announce that the Texas Nationals aka Texas State Air Rifle Championships will be September 21st, 2013. Larry Engle is the Match Director du jour. It will be 3, exciting 60 shot matches to determine the Texas State Champion in each of the 3 classes. There will also be one aggregate award for the grand champion. The match will be held at Bayou Rifles if it's above water

.
Anyone beating Dustin will be awarded a "special" prize. Range will be open Friday for Air rifle practice, Air rifle matches on Saturday and Sunday will be a Smallbore Silhouette match ( 2x 40's). There is talk of free < yes, gasp, free> hamburgers and hot dog/sausages at the range Friday night. Lunch provided Saturday and Sunday. Loaner air rifles upon request, accurate loaners for a small fee......

We will not be picking on Mark Pharr this year.....much.
Please make this match! We have FUN!!!!!

That's basically a participation prize.
We will be there!

Are we required to wait till the day of the match to beat him or can I sucker punch him at the local match the week before and still qualify for the special prize?

Dee,
I would prefer to be part of the "experience" of beating Dustin if only as a spectator. (he surpassed me long ago) It loses something not to be present. I will give you extra credit for the sucker punch. Is that acceptable? July is going to bring him to his knees.

I hope he's enjoying the smell of freedom while he can.
Of course they're room you you Mary. Always.

Thanks BF#7, or should I switch that to father of my beautiful children that fight over which is my favorite?
As for sucker punching Dustin the week before, Dee, I think he will be having enough issues by Sept if the kid arrives in July. I agree with JR, who years ago said we need the following classes, junior, in college, single, married, married with children and old fogies. Much better way to separate the classes.

Well crap, you changed the date. Now I have to beg the boss to change my vacation, and call the hotel to change my reservations. But I'll be there, even if I have to call in sick.

Larry Engle is the match director. He is very sensitive, so be gentle with him.

Trophies are being completed. Friday, the range will open at 12 Noon. Dinner is going to be a stew whipped up by Robert LaGrone, desert is a surprise, I'm told. I will be surprised if I get any.......It is included in your entry fee. This is a new deal cooked up (rrr) by Larry Engle and I think I can really get my teeth into this! Saturday will be 3, 60 shot air rifle matches, lunch included, Sunday you will have the choice of shooting CLA or Smallbore Silhouette, again most importantly, lunch included. The pistol cartridge is limited to 22 magnum. So if you plan to shoot that, pack accordingly. You can also shoot pistols in the CLA match. Larry Engle is a bundle of raw nerves, no practical jokes please...

. There will be a gun show at the Pasadena convention center as well. (as if you'll have time to attend...) It is a fun filled weekend. The mosquitoes aren't bad, we shot today, so come on down!!!!!!!!

Pat, made me miss the match today to mow for 6.5 hours. But it was worth it, I got to see Bill drive a tractor on a lot less than four wheels. I think his moto should be four tires are just too many.

We will issue canoes before warm ups tomorrow.

Since we have resettables, we don't need a canoe. Just like the old days, skip hits count. You will be required to wear "floaties" on the line. Snakes are not a legal animal, but will be added to lunch. I hope Larry doesn't have a stroke. He is so stressed, he was sweating yesterday.

Damn fine match. Thank you VERY much to everyone who made it happen, Larry, Pat, Greg, Paul, Robert and especially Mrs. Engle and Mrs. LaGrone who made food and statistics happen smoothly!
I am sure I missed a couple others but that is because I am tired.
(BTW, in case anyone was wondering.... a girl won the over all match aggregate......)
