It will be held at Bayou Rifles in Houston. It is rumored that Bill Motl will be cooking. Yum!!! Everyone is invited! (even Mark Pharr) Watch this space for more information. If we can swing the added days off of school, Mini and I will make it. I think she owes you a box of ammo on a botched bet.....

So the ONE time in 20 odd bets I finally win the bet, and it's botched? I don't think so. And it was 2 boxes of UNFIRED ammo.......

.CenterX I believe.........
I really hope y'all can make it. It will be nice to see you there. Maybe we can entice Cathy and James to come down. It won't be too hot yet.

Hey Adam, they picked on me first!!!!!!!

Glad you decided to join the fray. I hear you and Mark will be wrestling in the jello for the secret trophy. (ask Innocent, she won it at the airgun match)
Greg is pitchin a fit because of the conflict. I suspect the date will change. I had to bid vacation alreadyso I might have issues......over and above my regular ones.
stand by to stand by.

As everyone knows..... there are no perfect dates. Any feel from the peanut gallery if we should move, or change the format to allow people to attend?
Comments are welcome....

Good weekend for us. We both put in our leave requests as soon as we hit the workplace this morning.

I also already requested vacation. And I think it may be a good thing, as people can come for both. But I would understand if you have to change it to the same format as last year, two 60 round matches (1 standard, 1 hunter), probably on Saturday.

Just more information to fuel discussion.
No decision has been made but please keep in mind the show is Friday, Saturday and Sunday closing at the latest 6 pm. So unless you do very little in the way of practice on Friday you will not see the show in its current format. If we leave the 80 shot format, the earliest the match will like be done for the day is 2 pm. Factoring in drive time (in Houston) parking time, and the likes the earliest; I can see you getting in the door is 3:30-4:00. This will leave you about 2 hours to cover 350,000 SQ feet of floor space and several hundred vendor. The NRA says several hours to walk through the exhibits.
So unless you are not shooting one day, or the format is changed to 40s then the two will not likely mix.

Well the quest continues. The biggest snag is Greg, who is the match director, is committed to several activities at the NRA convention, and is entertaining some people who are attending. He is also the president of the Club, and has promised help to the NRA to run their event. The only competitive silhouette shooters I can think of who cross over to this side of the NRA are Greg and Bill Motl. So if we hold the match, we need a new cook and chief bottle washer. Or we slide it. Greg is an extremely energetic individual. I cannot say enough positive things about him. Our club has flourished under his helm and I rue the day he moves on. He has shot every single type of competition we do. He understands shooters and what it takes to run a good club. Yes, I give him crap, but he wouldn't have it any other way. Bill Motl is the same way. Our local matches are some of the best run I've ever seen. And the best eatin. Always a good time. I considered stepping up, but I'll have the herd there and I wanted to shoot. No way to manage the herd, shoot and run the match. I'm selfish. Evelio is considering that, but has some things going on that impact his decision as well. ( his jello wrestling training is in high gear.) I expect we will have a solution this weekend. If you have ideas or input post or email us/me.
