Is this from one of the "Bargain Priced" 1702's that is/has been converted to a 22lr rifle? With the lower pricing of some of the 17 cal Anschutz rifles, I have wondered whether it would be economical to convert one to a 22lr.

Steve, yes this is a 1712 action with a 17 cal. barrel that you can find out there for 700 - 800 bucks, the way I look at it, you can put a new pulled 22lr barrel that are going for 75-100 and you have a gun ready to shoot in a sil. match. Anyway you go, you can not purchase a 1700 action for less than $1200.00.
I will buy any available 1702 rifle out there, if the price is right.

Crazy Cuban,
So are you buying 1710 barrel actions for 1200.00?
What else is involved?

What other steps are involved in "converting" to 22 LR? Is it as simple as swapping the barrell and magazine if the rifle is a Mach2? Do any of the 1700 series rifles other than the 1712 come from the factory with the 2-stage trigger?

OK DAWG ( smart ass )
You must had a few scotches when you read my post, I will try to be a little more specific. The rifles I am talking about, are Anschutz model 1702, in 17 Mach 2 cal. they come with a plain wood stock, and a semi heavy tapered barrel, on a 1700 action, they sell for about $ 700.00 to $ 800.00.
The point I was trying to make is that you can replace the Mach 2 barrel, with a new pulled 1710 or 1712 barrel, and you are ready to shoot, or you can completely Bling it, and still would be a lot cheaper than starting with a new 1712 barreled action.
Yes I would buy any " 1702 " for $ 700.00 ????
Have a good day.
Adios.

Hey Bud, if you have any 1700 actions, that you are willing to part with, for around $ 700.00, bring them to Jax. I will take them all, I will also buy you a couple of drinks.
See you soon.
