In A Nutshell

I am not meaning to piss on anyones parade here, but for me the bottom line is the post about the best cartridge for silhouette is turning into a story much like The Emperor's New Clothes. I have known alot of other master shooters and have talked to most, and I have yet to talk to one that has travelled around to different ranges and that has consistantly taken 7-10 rams in a match without ringing some. When that day comes you will probably here of a bank robbery in whatever area of the country that I am in at the time, cause I'm going to get me some of those bullets. FWIW in a match 10 rams is all you have to take don't matter if your gun knocked over 50 off the bench the day before. I know for a fact that Sierra 142 MK's and 139 Lapuas will take 10 rams in Phoenix.

Jim,

The discussion you refer to is not about turning a B-shooter into a AAA-shooter. It's about top shooters ringing one less ram in a major match than their competition. And, those not in that situation can still benefit from our discussion.

I have taken 10/10 rams one day and had the same load ring 2 or 3 out of the 9 that I hit on at the next match at the same range on the same bank. That thread explained why the "tougher bullets" that I thought I was getting with the 139 Scenars aren't a lot more reliable on rams than the 142 Matchkings like I thought they would be.

Hey Jason,

Is Imas behaving himself, or is he sill having his dog chase sheep around, whilst his wife (still?) raises sheep????

Note to self: You are in the copper industry, it don't matter if these boys are shooting bullets or filing them, it's moving copper, soon you will be able to get one of those Russian babes or maybe a Japaneese and even get Showtime!

I don't see Imas much shooting anymore. I think he's usually out chasing a dog that's chasing sheep when he's not chasing his wife. He's all domesticated now. I remember he was selling off his custom smallbore hunter rifle and spending thousands on a herding dog. Totally incomprehensible priorities there... 8) :))

Jason,

Thanks for the Imas status report, different strokes for different blokes I guess.   But, glad to hear he's still chasing his wife.
