I've been out working on my form and I've began noticing a big difference in where I put my right elbow(right hand shooter). Is there a correct placement? Just let it hang where it will? Force it down closer to the body? hold it higher?

koldkut,
Whatever makes the dot/cross hair move less is what you should do. You will go through several holds and stances before you hit on one that works then you'll spend a lot of time tuning it. My best advice is if you see the bullet hit the target, I'm pretty sure your doing it right.

Once again the Dawg hits the nail right on the head. The other thing is to look at how (if you can) the top shooters do it, and also how people in other standing shooting sports do it. I learned a long time ago from 3 p shooters and in the end fell back to that position, tuned by shooting 10 meter air rifle.

All right I'm going to kill my running for the best answer in Feb..
It helps a lot if you have a chest to lay the rifle across then your elbow just kinds of falls in there!!!
No seriously the Dawgs answer is a great one, whichever works best for you. Take the time to give each hold a real try, whether grabbing firmly or just letting it sit there.
BTW isn't there supposed to be a new silhouette shooter being born soon?

koldkut,
Take her out 4 wheeling, that should knock the little one loose, or just tell her Big Sarge and me are coming to spend the next two weeks with ya, and we are bring Jake for her to babysit, the shock alone will drop Jr. right out.

KoldKut: My wife worked as chief of x-ray and sonography at the largest ob-gyn hospital in our area for many years. Tell the expectant mother to eat a Meatlovers pizza from Pizza Hut as soon as possible. Not just a slice but just about as much as she can eat to be comfortably full at a regular meal time. The nurses that worked with my wife said this would induce labor almost every time. These were medical professionals offering this advice not just your average citizen. I think they noticed a trend when they interviewed patients on admission and came up with this conclusion.
Hope it helps,

Man boobies???....Of course, this begs the question "If a man/woman has breast implants are they considerd an artificial means of support"? And being so, would they be illegal.....Just curious, and if they are illegal I want to be a part of that tech team.........I called it first....

Kitty, Kitty, Kitty....
Even I let the Limeys comment go without responding. But you sir beg the question... Has the season started to alter your mental abilities???
I know tax season is busy for CPA's but come on, either they are homegrown or hand made and they certainly do not constitute artificial support from my view.
Men on the other hand could have the potential of shooting from a tripod and that would be artificial support.

Koldkut,
Good luck, hope it doesn't go to the inducing end, that can be an interesting challenge. Of course having one with a 23 inch chest. that prefers to stay warm and asleep, the inducing didn't help any.
Anyway hoep all comes out well and you learn what sleep depervation is soon.

We thought about going coyote chasing, tempting, but she isn't a fan of my driving across a pasture at speed. Look forward to seeing the two of you. You drinking Glen?
