I hadn't shot my 54.18 for a while and know 1 rifle is the way to do better in both classes- why not make it into a single shot "hunter"? After seeing Neihouse's pictures (more bling) and e-mailing kitty and Evelio McDonald, I decided Evelio was the gunsmith for the project. He also had a Lilja barrel looking for a home, and a Pharr R/TS stock arriving soon. I shipped the rifle 1/3/07 to Houston, and got it back 2/2/07. Fastest turn-around for any gun-related project I ever had. The workmanship shows that I picked the right guy (Evelio) for the job. The trigger conversion from 2ounces to 2 pounds+ is amazing- it picks the weight but feels very light and breaks clean with a definite "stop" between stages. Since the upstate NY weather is 5 degrees, 15 mph wind, and blowing snow I shot it on the indoor 50 ft range at our club. Of course 50 ft is no challenge for this outfit. Can't wait for the weather to improve. I'm very satisfied with the finished rifle, and want to thank Evelio for a job well done. I will try to attach a picture.
