7mm "Blem" bullets at Midsouth for $5.99 per 100

Just got this email from Midsouth. Looks like Hornady 139gr Interbond bullets. At $5.99 per one hundred bullets it's pretty tough to pass up on. Generally the blem bullets from Hornady are very nice. I am imagining that the one in the photo is about as bad as it gets.

WOW! That is crazy. I only bought 10 boxes ($60), maybe I should have bought more! I was actually wondering if they might sell out before I got my order completed. Their website was sloooowww. Maybe bogged down with people buying them! If they are Interbonds that is about an 87.5% discount!

Anybody else from SC get some? I hope they aren't completely thrashed. Generally the Hornady ballistic tip blems are still good. The Sierra ballistic tip blems on the other hand are pretty beat up. I won't buy those.

I'll post up some photos of the good bad and ugly when they get here.

And I need all the things that I can find to blame my crappy shooting on!! :D

I should have the bullets delivered in the next hour or two. Nice thing about ordering from MidSouth and living in the South. I get next day shipping. I'll post up photos soon.

I tried ordering some of those as soon as I checked my email and they were already sold out. I don't compete with a 7mm but I know lots of people, including some relatives, with various 7mm hunting rifles. Those were going to make excellent presents....

I wonder how many they had. I was tempted to buy a lot more. I am sure others did.

Well, didn't receive them today. My FedEx delivery date of 1-13-12 disappeared and now there is no delivery date listed. Maybe the truck they were on blew a tire. 8-} So I wonder if FedEx will deliver it to me tomorrow on Saturday since they missed their expected delivery date. :!!

McAlice probably snagged the entire lot! Hope he did anyway, as many as he shoots they wouldn't collect dust at his place.

Nope...wasn't me. I don't want to shoot ugly bullets. I much prefer the full out REJECTS. Hornady automatically culls a percentage of the beginning and end of a given run of bullets. These are bagged and boxed up in 100 count amounts and then offered to the employees at a much reduced cost. Any left overs go up to the front desk at the main entrance and are sold to the public as cash and carry only. Expect to pay only $10-$12 per box. They will not ship them. They are of best quality from all of what I have bought in the past. Driving the 600 miles to Grand Island, NE to pick them up is always our problem. No one wants to do it. We try and catch some one who will be near by on their way back to CO to stop in and pick them up. One of our guys brought back a bunch of them last Jan. I ended up with 22 boxes of 7mm 139 SST, 154 Interlocks and 175 Interlocks. I have two boxes of 175's left. All the rest have been shot up. I had to load the 600 rounds I fired in December with.....Match Kings. But good news. We have 50 or so boxes bought and paid for being picked up soon to split up among the group. 8)

Ok, first and foremost, if this deal comes up again I am going to buy all that I can afford. This was a ridiculously good deal. The bullets came in little bags of 100. I can't find one of them that looks as rough as the one on the website. Other than tarnish these look great. All of the 1000 bullets that I bought have nearly perfect tips on them and none of the jackets appear to be deformed. Here are some photos, then I'll post a random 25 count with weights and lengths. The tarnish on the individual bullet below is by far one of the worst in the lot.

These are the lengths of those same 25 bullets. From the base to the ogive using a Hornady digital caliper and a Hornady bullet gauge. I honestly wouldn't have a single issue with using these bullets for silhouette matches. At $5.99 per 100 it was a super good deal. Wish I had bought more.
