The 2012 Texas State Hunter Pistol Championship will be held at the Austin Rifle Club May 4th-6th 2012. We would love to have folks from all over the country join us for our state match and then see us again at the Nationals in Bradford PA. June 12-15.
The Austin Airport is easily accessible from the Austin Rifle Club Range and there are a number of hotels in Manor and Elgin that are within 10-15 minutes of the range. We also have water and 30A electric hookups for up to 10 RVs.
The ARC Silhouette Range has six firing points (at each target) with triple stacked (15) targets. We will have lunch catered by the Good Luck Grill who has always provided a good meal, served in a timely manner allowing us to get back to shooting in short order. Target setting will be provided by the Pflugerville Panther High School Band who has set for us during several state and national matches and have always provided phenomenal service. The excellent setting services, catered lunch, and triple stacked targets allows us to complete two 60-shot matches before the peak heat of the day. The firing line is covered and there is a dirt backstop behind the targets that usually provides for easy spotting. We shoot white targets and for the bigger matches treat the backstops with black pigment to increase the contrast.
We are also contemplating the possibility of a Hunter Pistol/Cowboy mixed regional early next year as a fundraiser to help get more of our kids to the Nationals in Bradford.
