The book "A Rifleman's Guide to Rimfire Ammunition" provides empirical testing on just about every brand of ammo. It includes "group" testing out of two different bench rest quality rifles for each brand and primer and powder description and examination. Even the cases were measured for headspace. The book is a great starting point. Even though each rifle is fickle...it helps to have good starting points
