hi
i have noticed a few times here and there that folks have said , "unless you are at a big match" or "unless it is weighed-dont worry" and stuff like that.
i think we should be telling people to follow ALL the rules. local registered matches count towards grandslams, rules should be enforced, or at very least self enforced. the rules are there so everyone is on equal ground. if you are knowingly outside the rules and use the score for classification or record you are infact a cheater.
silo is a game of dicipline, that dicipline should start with the rulebook. develop good habits and you will avoid being rejected at tech at a big match in the first place.
by all means if your gun is heavy, scope too high, comb too high, etc. shoot the match for fun, it shoudl not be entered into your classification book and more than adding an extra x or 2.
we see it in all sports, football players dont intend to cheat, the forget and it simply never crosses their mind cause there are lots of people doing it.
as far as this sport goes there is not a single lick of difference between a local match with 3 shooters and the CBC.
let me be clear, i do think we should run what you brung to get people involved, but we should not let the scores be counted unless it is within the rules. the rules are the rules ,a match director has certain things left up to them as outlined in the rules. everything else is black and white.
this of course is just my opinion.
