boats, just to give you a little bit of history. HP used to be shot at 25-50-75-100 yards, then it went to meters and the 25 went to 40 for safety reasons, this was done way back in the 80's. Cowboy was sanctioned by NRA in the late 90's but was practiced in several states using the pistol targets, distances and time limits.
No after though went to make it the same as Smallbore rifle since the NRA did not think they would pick up the bulk of the shooters from that discipline (originally most of the cowboy shooters at Raton, NM came from HP and BP cartridge) and they already had access to the facilities at Raton (12 banks for HP and 10 for the long range) for holding Nationals.
The only thing to do for locations that have SB berms is what you guys did and just place the pigs to 60 and the turkeys to 75, if there is an issue with the pigs being placed at 60 meters instead of 50 just make them a bit larger just like we make the pigs smaller when we shoot 1/5 size at pistol distances, the two meters on the turkeys are not enough to make a difference any how.

Thought there was some reason behind it. In the end we added two extra rails. One at 50 and one at 75 to make the range regulation for Hunters Pistol and Cowboy. Might be hard to see but in the photo they are painted yellow. Will have to take one of it set up, this day testing ammo on Paper at the Ram Line

It works ok except lot of guys would rather have a larger berm behind the Pigs and Turkeys for spotting misses.

Here's the Haltom City club's non-permanent, auto-reset setup.

The 1/2 scale targets at Haltom City were designed and built by several club members. The 1/5 scale were built by a member and his school shop classes. We can send you some information and pictures, if you want to build your own.

Another place you might want to look at is the Specialty Pistol site. Do a search for "reset" in the Steel Shooting portion of the forum. I didn't see any non-permanent setups but lots of ideas that perhaps could be adapted. You may have to join to search but it's free to do so.
