Attention Kevin Bear

Dude, I got your barrel done today after work. Well not really, the boss was off today and I snuck it in between jobs during work time. I lopped off that five inch reverse taper chunk just like I thought you wanted. I had to use a dull band saw blade, took forever. I re crowned it with a 16 inch flat mill bastard file. Not my best ever crown with a file but I bet that nice Shilen will still shoot like a house on fire. Oh yeah, I forgot to polish out the scratches you showed me, but I added a few more of my own so it looks more evenly blended with scratches. She finished up at 18 and a half inches give or take. One other thing. I could only find one of my padded vice jaw covers. Don't worry though, I think most of the bite marks will be hidden by the stock.

The gun is still in a bunch of pieces, but I think I can figure out how to re assemble. If not, I will give 'ol Evelio or Metalhead a call for some advice on gettin it fixed up .

Do you want me to drop the rifle off at Scotts place after work on Monday ?.....please advise.

By the way, I was only kidding you asking for 50 bucks for the job. Twenty will cover my time.

Bob...hell ya, McCalice, It's you, not the two Boobs, but the smart machinist Bob, you can call me anytime...I would be thrilled to talk to a guy like you, really. I am now semi retired from the gun stuff, but I still make the trigger guard parts and for Mr. Wooster who is now one of the two best the best stock makers and stock fitters in the rifle silhouette business. The other guy lives in Round Rock, not Houston.

Steve's eagerness to learn my way of doing things and then purchase his own machines has made him quite an artist after just a few training sessions. He will be a true star for many years to come.

Bob, I still have a few tricks that I have stored in this pee sized brain I got. Maybe I can share some of them with you. Cheers Brother....Mr. Marv....(360) 748-3429

That was almost funny!! You better quit jacking with me or I'll sneak out to your range someday when your not there {that might take a couple of months} and weld your ram targets to the stands! =)) You'll suddenly loose fait in all 25 of your 7-08's and rebarrel them to 30 cal's costing you thousands of dollars and who no's how much time.
Thanks for working on my gun, I'll be at CRC on saturday shooting BR-50 and Greenmill on sunday, if you come to one of them bring my rifle please.

Bob:

I got those "proof loads" you asked me to work up so we could test Kevin's rifle at Golden on Saturday. Just to confirm, you wanted me to fill the case 3/4 full with Unique and seat the bullet to be .030 jammed and crimp the bullets in a vise? I still don't know why you had me load up 5 since 1 is all we are going to need. BTW I was able to get 500 yards of fishing line off an old fishing reel so that should give us enough safety room to pull the trigger remotely. Will you still be able to get a good video from that distance??? I can't wait, this is going to be better than the 4th of July fireworks!!!!

No Jim, I said Bullseye...not Unique. I got a better idea. Lets put it in the bed of the Blue Mule. I will video it at a safe distance from inside the mouse piss smelling cab. You can pull the line from where ever you want. Man, this will be a You Tube smash hit !! :D

Hey Jim, I am a little concerned about your post. How many of your guns got wrecked working up a proof load ?

He still has 6 fingers, and hopefully he can learn to become left eye dominant since that is the only one he has left after load testing. =))

Bob, good thing you fixed up that rifle of Kevin's. It sure was shooting like crap last Sunday. Dang thing cost me 18 animals!

From the sounds of the spectacular job that you did on Kevin's rifle I bet that Bonner will be next in line to get the same "treatment". =p~
