Troubles with Marbles sights?

Post by jnyork »

Got this email this morning from a friend at Whittington Center in New Mexico. Anyone have any experience with this, I sure hope Marbles is not having problems.

, I ran my lever
rifle matches on Sunday. A good friend from Santa Fe came up and was
talking about his problems with the NEW IMPROVED MARBLE SIGHTS. They
were so badly made that the stem wobbled around like a ballon on a
string. When he tried to tighten it up he discovered that the allen
screw at the base of the stem is supposed to screw into a hole in the
stem. The hole on his was drilled crooked and wouldn't hold. So he
send it back to Brownell's to be replaced. Something is going on with
Marble sight company because Brownell's told him they didn't have any to
replace his with and they weren't able to contact the Marble Company to
find out what was going on. Sunday another shooter was trying to shoot
his .22 with a NEW IMPROVED MARBLE sight and the stem fell off the gun.
When he tried to put it back on and tighten it up he had the same wobbly
stem Rex had talked about. He said he had been trying to buy another
Marble and no one had any for sale. Again the same story of no one
knows what is going on with Marble, but they can't get them to answer
calls or respond to them.

Sometimes this time of year some companies shut down totally for two weeks for vacation Vs running at almost no staff... Doesn't answer to the poor quality questions, but may explain the no answer.

I hope we haven't lost another good manufacturing company of a fine product to the bean counters....

I emailed them yesterday, and got this reply from the company president this morning:

Thank you for your request and for sharing the problem that some of our customers are facing.

We are still here and going strong. We did running into some manufacturing schedule issues with one of our parts for the Improved Peep sight. This one part has held up the delivery of all the sights to our distributors. I apologize for that. The parts are now being shipped and we will continue to fill back orders.

Regarding the problem with the sight wobbling is a concern to me. I would suggest that you have your friend return the sight to us at:

Marble Arms

420 Industrial Park

Gladstone, MI 49837

We will repair or replace the sight and return it within a few days.

Again, I appreciate your input. We never know if there are problems unless we are made aware of it. We will look for the sights.

Thanks,
eskuri

It sounds like they are taking this defect seriously and will make it right. Keep us informed on what happens. Is this problem also affecting the old, unimproved sights?

Not that I can tell, the older models all seem to work just fine.
