We have yet to hold a decent match this year mostly due to poor weather, but also to plain 'ol poor attendance. We are down to our last dirty dozen or so HP shooters with no new blood to carry the torch. Lately we only get three to five people show up , not quite enough for a match and it turns into a practice session instead. At the rate we are going HP silhouette will be extinct in Colorado within a couple of years. And to make matters worse, our beloved "Blue Mule" 1976 Ford target hauler truck is down for the count.

Come on you guys...get your butts out to CRC next Sunday the 11th !
If any of you SC HP shooters happen to be in Colorado on the 11th and you have a rifle with you, well by all means join us. Match fees will be waived for any "out of towners " that show up.

Weather permitting I will be there! Kevin said that he has ammo loaded up for me. I hope this time he actually measured the power in each charge. I am sure that is the reason I do so poorly with his rifles.
And we can use my truck as long as you tell your pet mice to stay in the "Blue Mule". Shit, if we don't have to smell mouse piss we can use my truck for every HP match! Tell me what time to be there.
I kind of screwed up and bought a Model 700.................... in 22-250.
I know that I should have bought a 7-08, but for $550.00 for a vintage 700 BDL "Varmint Special" (in fantastic condition) with a Leupold FX 12 power scope... sometimes you gotta pick your deals wisely.
Problem is that I bought it to resell it at a profit, and now I like it too much to sell it.
I told KevinBear that I need to start buying/selling only ugly guns so that I quit keeping them after I buy them!

Bob:
I will be there!
I hope you don't mind that I am bringing my friend "Blondie" along.
You can witness her shooting prowess at the link below. I told her to bring lots of bug juice since she likes to tan while shooting.
I suspect she will bring out a few more shooters???

Trent, you did not screw up on that deal. Just unscrew that worthless varmint blaster barrel and put on a decent # 5 contour in 6.5 or 7 something. And what is wrong with the aroma of ancient mouse piss and turds ? To quote Robert Duvall in the 1979 movie "Apocalypse Now ".............."I love the smell of mouse piss in the morning"
I will still bring the .308 just in case. Show up around 8am, we will start at 9 give or take. Mr. Tobin, please do bring that skinny thing with you. All that exposed skin will help draw the mosquitos to her, not us. Yes, they are back. But not too bad yet.
OK, we got two plus me saying they will be there, Now we need Ed, Lee, Bob W., Scott, Kevin, Dave, Bob & Geri S. , Steve, Tom....did I miss any ? What are the odds the whole crew will be there?

Hi Bob,
I will be there too!
On Saturday, Please soften up the Rams with your 7mm's and 308 so my 6.5mm's will at least have a chance for a couple of hits.
Wendell is off hiking with his wife in the woods.
Snyder is taking a break from high power, The Iron Man in Montana and the Wyoming Iron Man have left his back pretty sore.
Kevin is going to be there.
Bant is still in Wisconsin he will not be shooting at CRC.
Hawks?? I have not talked to him about Sunday.
Don? I give him a call about Sunday.

Our closest high power matches are in Benton/Little Rock since our high power range is only three hundred yards and, at least until recently, we would have had trouble filling a dance card. Mallory did pretty well at Nationals, so it does seem like a shame that her home club doesn't host a match.
While on sick leave from small bore I've had some informal discussions about air rifle matches, so the Commander and I have some things to discuss when he gets back from Nationals.

I just saw Mallorys name in the HP scores Tony just posted, thanks Tony. Bear, didn't you guys just recently build a full course HP range somewhere in Arkansas?

I think that was the Benton club (Where's Chicken George when you need him?) and we do have a shooter or two that makes those matches. Since they're on Sunday morning, they can be problematic as a routine thing.

We had eight shooters at our monthly HP match today, not a bad turnout. The Blue Mule got repaired but was still giving us starting problems off and on. But it got us thru the matches OK. We will work on it some more soon. It got to about 90 degrees and was absolutely calm all day by CO standards. The top scores with the standard rifle was a 28 Dave B.....27 Bob M....26 Jim T. Hunter gun scores were a 29 Dave B.....27 Bob M......22 Trent M.
Thanks for coming out guys. Lets do it again in August.
