I rolled out of town about 4:15 this morning and hit the road. I just got back home and wanted to post a Thank You. Wow, what a great time all weekend. The people were great, the food was great, the competition was great, the match was great - even tent camping on the parking lot field was great.

I'm already looking forward to next year (2010 was my first visit, but won't be my last). A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE INVOLVED WITH THE SOUTHERN NATIONALS!!!!!!!!!~

Steve, when you recover can you give us your perspective on tent camping at Winnsboro? Up around the RV's under the light poles there were lots of insects but no insects away from the lights. Were you cool enough to sleep well during the night? I did manage not to run over your tent out in the field! I have considered going lighter and tent camping also. There are also lots of folks camping out in many of the storage buildings and warehouses at the range. Many of the campers must have slept well. They shot very good scores. Coates for one.

Thanks,
Bobby R. Huddleston

Bobby...I don't remember Coates sleeping much, except sometime after 3 am...at least that seems to be the time he showed up in the 'room'.

Steve, somehow I missed seeing your tent, otherwise it might have been moved if Limey had found out where it was set up!

Innocent, I got to spend some time visiting with Coates this Southern Nationals. He looked like he had 10 hours sleep every night and shot like it also making Master in Standard at this Match. I am jealous because I have to have sleep. Coates told me he had not asked for any time off from work for a whole year. That is admirable.

I think Jetmuugg's tent was out in the middle of the field south of the Airgun range.

He hid it well...I didn't get a chance to walk behind the sheriff building, otherwise I would have spotted it, I am surprised Limey didn't find it also, but he was just about as busy as I was...except he was trying to get all the Southern Nationals staff shirts. At least the ones that would fit him. I can assure my son did not show in the bunk until after 1 am every night...um morning, and I was up and had the lights on by 5 am, though he has learned to sleep through some of that.

That doesn't sound like something I would ever be caught doing... Me staying up till 1 in the morning??
Highly unlikely, I think my mother has gotten me confused with someone else (she is starting to show her age). :p

I know we were alot better behaved than some of the others. Had some good laughs after the sun went down.

I was in bed asleep...but aware of the times you came back to the room, so don't try to deny it.

i just got back home also after entertaining the Australian contingent of Anthony, Lynne and Dave Finn at Lake Bruin for three days. We had a great time and totally relaxed!

It was a great shoot with a superb group of competitors and guests.

Dave let you relax???? We must have partied him out, he wouldn't take his shades off on Saturday or Sunday...something about he always wears them and it was much brighter there than down under.
