After reading the discussion on Grand Slams in the Hunter rifle Highpower game I decided to get some more info.

To date, these are the numbers:

High Power Rifle 30
High Power Hunting Rifle 8
Smallbore Rifle 276
Smallbore Hunting Rifle 138

There is also 1 Open Smallbore Rifle but the category has long since been closed.

Thanks for the numbers. Jeaux got the #138 a few weeks ago for Hunter rifle IIRC. Do you have the numbers for air rifle classes as well? I am actually closer to them in Airgun than SB lol. You would think more people would have gotten a Grand Slam over all this time but then again I am going on my 3rd year of book keeping and still need everything but Chickens. Everything else is always 9 nine 9 nine 9 nine if I am lucky that is  ... ughhhhhhhhh

I did not ask for any others. The time to go through the files by hand would be excessive, and there is no NRA database on this award, so I wasn't going topush a favor too hard!

As for how it works, Shoot 10 in a row at any approved or higher event and have the Match Director send in the reporting forms with the 3 required witness signatures. You keep the yellow copy, and within a month or so NRA HQ will send a letter confirming the Match Director submitted the original forms. If they dont you should call or email and they'll work with you. They (NRA Silhouette Division) track your progress, and once you get 10 in a row on all 4 animals you've completed the Grand Slam, for that division. If you're like most of us, you shoot more than one division, so can have more than one Grand Slam in progress.

FYI reduced distances dont count. Yards or meters is OK, but you cant shoot a match where all animals are at 200 yards, even though scaled to be correct, and get credit towards a slam for pigs, turkeys, or rams at that event.

Same boat at Coates. Got my hunter grandslam over a year ago and have all the slips and still havent gotten a pin. Only need my 10 turkeys in standard and once that happens should take another year to get that pin :)) I know, you must have to redeem some of the points you get at nationals to get your pin =))

Mary, apparently the powers that be don't know that you are the boys Mom! Anyone else, I had the same problem, bypassed the Sil Dept went directly to the President, just about immediate resluts, if you were wondering what to do.

Those of you waiting should look into it as something is not right. Jeaux got his #138 pin within a few weeks of sending in his final leg. Perhaps we have some DMV employees moonlighting at the NRA =))

JB...after the mess at Raton with the trophies at the Nats in 99, I long since learned to go to the top. To date I seem to be the only one that got their promised trophy from that match. Just haven't bothered to mess with the paperwork yet ( I deal with this type of work all day), will probably get to it after Winny.
