A 500m Ram struck center with a 107gr SMK.

The sun is overhead, lighting up the ram bank nicely. I put that squirrely dot on the #2 Ram and hold nice and steady and give the trigger a squeeze...

It felt good - very centered - one of the best executed shots of the day. I couldn't wait to see it fall.

As I took the rifle down and peered downrange, I thought my eye-sight was going. The #2 Ram was standing there changing colors.

I can stand a ringer or two, but it was tough having one stand there jerking my chain.

I really need to get out to a highpower match to try it out. I think that would be a kick to try it once if for nothing more than to slam a ram with my 30.06 hunting rilfe. Other than that, highpower is too expensive for my blood.

You can't shoot your money and the highpower ram has to be one of the great thrills in the shooting sports. As a friend once said:"If shooting is a rodeo, highpower silhouette is the bull ride."
I watched Chicken George whack one solidly in the flank at Zwolle a few years back. The spotter shook his head sadly and said :"It didn't go." George yells :"FALL, you S.O.B," and the target complied. Had to have been five seconds. Forgive me if I've told this story before. I don't have very many and I'm getting senile.

You were insulted because you used a 107 grain SMK on a ram... what did you expect?

Pay the rams their due respect and use a 139 - 142 grain bullet at the proper velocity and the rams will become a lot less disrespecful.

Any ideas on how to make the smallbore rams more respectful?

Shoot off the bench? That'll show'em.

I'm with ya, but I had to beg, borrow and steal the 300 107's I had just to shoot the match, which meant making due...

Well if they are yankee rams just put on a hillary clinton mask, they will be lulled into a false sense of security and the meer shock of anything touching them in a combative way will make them fall down.
