Jerry, Robin and I have just finished setting up the awards for the Twentieth Anniversary Southern Nationals Regional Air Rifle and Smallbore Rifle Silhouette Championship match. We think that we have improved the awards and found the best way to speed up the awards so that we will not be at the range until dark-thirty each night. The changes are as follows:

Friday Night Special Door Prizes for all competitors will be a Kowa Spotting scope, a pair of Kowa binoculars, two pair of Pentax Binoculars, a Sightron Rifle scope, a Winstead Shooting Vest, and two Lone Wolf knives. These prizes each have a retail value of at least $175 and all competitors will be entered into the drawing.

The Friday night drawing for the Twentieth Anniversary Anschutz rifles that are scoped with Leupold, Burris, Sightron and Pentax scopes for the five classes.

The Friday night Coonass Team Shoot will be held and offers Spyderco knives, 3M Aearo Electronic Hearing Protectors, E-Gear lights, Eley Ammunition, and special Lenspen Polo shirts for this event.

Saturday and Sunday door prizes as usual.

Find Tom Award - Find the minature turkey in an ad in the program for a chance to win a $250 Yeti Ice Chest.

Collect at least 50 autographs from the competitors with as least two countries and five states represented among the signatures for a chance on an Anschutz travel duffle.

The awards for the daily matches and the aggregate matches will be as follows: ALL PRIZES ARE GIVEN FOR EACH ADDITIONAL 4 SHOOTERS PER CLASS IN B CLASS - AA CLASS AND EACH ADDITIONAL 5 SHOOTERS FOR AAA AND MASTER CLASSES WITH A MAXIMUM OF 10 PLACES IN MASTER AND AAA CLASSES. THE AGGREGATE NATCH WINNERS WILL RECEIVE A CZ RIFLE AND PENTAX SCOPE. EACH CLASS WINNER IN THE AGGREGATE WILL WIN EITHER A LEUPOLD SCOPE OR A BURRIS SCOPE DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF RIFLE IN THE MATCH. ALL DAILY AND AGGREGATE MATCH AWARDS WILL BE DETERMINED BY REVERSE ANIMAL COUNT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE MATCH WINNER AND FIRST IN EACH CLASS. SECOND PLACE AND DOWN IN THE AWARDS WILL WIN TROPHIES AS WELL AS AWARDS FROM OUR SPONSORS.

Middle-of-the-Pack Awards will be based on the mean average aggregate per class in each rifle. For example, in 2009 the highest AAA Class score in Standard Class Rifle was 67/80 and the lowest score in AAA Class was 24/80 for a mean average of 45.5. All AAA Class competitors with a combined aggregate Standard Rifle score of 45/80 and 46/80 would qualify for the drawing for the "Middle-of-the-Pack" award as listed below:

Standard Rifle Master - Clark 10/22 Barrel, Hunter Rifle Master - E R Shaw 10/22 Barrel. AAA Standard and Hunter Rifle - C-More Pistol Site each, AA Standard and Hunter Rifle - $250 E R Shaw Coupon each, A Standard Rifle - $250 Robar Coupon, A HUnter Rifle - Mark Pharr stock and Evelio McDonald bedding, B Standard and Hunter Rifle - Kestrel Weather Meter each.

The Special Receipt Drawing and the Pick-of-the -Liter will be held as usual on Saturday and Sunday.

The program will be finalized and sent to the printer before March 15 and should go out in the mail by April 1, 2010. If you need hard copies mailed to you, please let us know via email or telephone. As of the posting of the thread, we have 48 individual competitors entered in the match.

I like this one, I think I class as a country... Texas thats another country too, right? How about Planets? It would be a shame to leave NJ and FL out.

Just something to get everyone to try and meet some of the other shooters that they don't normally visit with. As you know Limey, we are always thinking of new things. The Anschutz rolling travel bag is really nice!

We may institute s new award next year to "find the tent" of Pat Steiger!

Now Ducky, if Mary is offering you the shirt off her back, isn't it impolite to refuse?

BC, I show up just to run barefoot, work with the LA democrats, eat lots of fine food, and see where Pat Steigers tent ended up...oh yeah and see to other pictures of who moved it.

Too true, Mary! There's a group of energetic die-hards that come early and stay late making sure the train stays on the track. You and Limey come to mind, but it's fearful to list the volunteers for fear of leaving someone out!
