What length barrel?

Post by Bob259 »

I have a TC Contender and was wondering about what length .22 barrel to look for. Are the 10" ones OK, or should I look for a 14" or more? Never know when I might want to play with the Handgun and try pistol Silhouette :D

10 or less Bob...too long to hold, otherwise.

I've got a 10" 22lr barrel on my Contender that I use. It's the smaller profile one with factory sights. I like the 10" bull barrel in 22 Hornet better, though. It just seems to hold better. If buying again, I'd get the bull "match" barrel in 22lr. I think the NRA matches allow longer than 10" barrels now, but I haven't shot many pistol matches lately. If legal, I'd go for the 12" barrel instead. I shoot them "taco hold" with a scope.
