1712 FWT Stock extension
I need to extend my 1712 FWT stock by about an inch.
Any suggestions?
Is original butt plate just glued on?
thanks

The ones that I've done were just glue-ins (AFAIK all the MacMillan stocks are done the same way) and I've just cut them off and replaced them with the needed length of shoe material.
I've found the Pachmayr slip-ons to work reasonably well; especially if you want to experiment with varying lengths before settling on your final choice. If you go that route, you can put a drop or two of glue -- do NOT get carried away! lol -- on the surface of the factory pad to prevent any twisting when you're in position. If you decide later to sell the stock or revert to the original configuration, you can generally get the glue residue off...
Keep in mind, if you're pushing weight, that the slip-ons are heavier than shoe material.
