Does anyone know the exact weight of a 24X BR-D. I think it is around 16 oz, but am not sure. The 6.5-20 EFR is listed at 17.8 oz and might put me over weight for a Hunter.
Thanks.

The Leupold 24x40 and 25x40 scopes I use weigh 16ozs. (+-.5oz.) with Rifleman aluminum rings.

Thanks. If it is 16 oz with aluminum rings, then it must be around 14 oz bare.

Maybe - the Rifleman rings are very light.

You may want to double check the weight on the 6.5x20 efr 40 as mine is 16.9 oz without sunshade and 18 oz with shade.

Leupold typically does list weights on the high side, and the VXIII EFR is heavier than the FXIII's. Fixed power scopes and aluminum rings are very good ways to save a few ounces on rifles that are struggling to make weight.

I just weighed a 24 BR-D and it came in at 14.6 ounces with the covers off of the target knobs. The new style sun shade weighed 1.6 ounces. The old style weighed 1.1 ounces. I think this one is typical. I would be very surprised if the bare scope came in at more than 15 ounces.
I don't have a loose pair of Weaver 4x4 rings handy to weigh, but they are pretty light.

Thanks, everyone. I went with the 24X BR-D instead of a 6.5-20 EFR to save the weight.
