I use the SK Standard HIGH VELOCITY, it is more accurate than any other high speed ammo that I have tried so far.

I've used the SK standard plus (and Wolf Match Target) in smallbore cowboy matches before. It shoots well. It also usually leaves at least 1 or 2 out of every 10 rams standing. I don't use it anymore.

I have not experienced many ram losses with std. velocity ammo. I believe there are factors that do however attribute to lost rams.
1. Targets that are too thick. I have seen a lot of ranges using thick rams and they are hard to knock down.
2. Improper sets or if using just rail; having the targets set too far forward. I they aren't set on the back of the rail they have to slide and won't fall off consistantly.
I have seen sets that are even with the ground and the rams just get pushed back to the dirt and won't fall and are still on the rail. ( This type of set does not conform
to the rules )
3. WIND!!! Wind blowing on the back of the rams will hold them up. ( I have had this happen )
Believe me if I thought I would lose a high percentage of rams with Std. velocity ammo I would be hot onto somehting else. Most of the matches I attend the competition level is very high, and that one ram you may lose will cost you the match. SK Standard Plus is very accurate in my rifle ( 61 Winchester ) and you can't discount accuracy. Al

Since I started in 1984, all I've ever shot on I/2 scale rimfire targets is stnd velocity (mostly Aguila the last few years). And like Al said if we weren't knocking them down, we wouldn't be shooting it. If you need HV, you may consider how your range is set up.

I have checked the range setup, many times. We have pads welded onto the rails the size of the feet on the animals. That prevents any difference in setting the targets. I lose very few with Eley Club Extra as long as I don't choose the very slow lots, but I do occasionally lose them. Both Wolf Match Extra and SK Standard Plus make me lose more. Yes, these are definitely the thinner smallbore animals and not the thicker pistol cartridge animals. Believe me, I have tried most combinations of velocity/accuracy for smallbore rams. I only need rams to complete my grand slam for smallbore cowboy, and already have my grand slams for pistol cartridge cowboy as well as hunter and standard smallbore on the 1/5 scale targets. I have had two matches in which I hit all the rams but left one or two standing with standard velocity ammo. If you have different experience that's fine. Choose what works for you.
