Shooting Vest

Post by stsbuyer »

Is it legal to wear a vest for Cowboy silhouette? If it is what is legal. I have two of the light weight Winstead veasts and an old shootgun vest. It would be nice to be able to use one if for no other reason than to have the pockets for score cards and ammo.

Thanks,

Paul they say a shotgun vest is legal and/or one of the western type vests. I know the regular hardscrabble vest are not and I don't believe the light weight ones are either. Maybe some one can add about the light weight ones they make

Bob,

I have my old shotgun vest that I used before I purchased the Hardscrabble vests. I can use it, just wanted to have something with pockets.

Thanks,

Paul

That's what I use Paul, my old Bob Allen vest and for the same reason.

The mesh vests that Hardscrabble sells are legal for Cowboy. I bought one in Raton and believe me I checked with a committe member before I shelled out the bucks. Al

Al,

Thanks, I was thinking if a shothun style vest was legal that the Mesh Harscrabble vest would be too.

I have two of the Winstead vest and an older shotgun vest so I am good to go. Sure will be nice to just carry the gun and everything else in my vest pockets.

Thanks again,

At the Nationals this year they let us use shotgun vests but we were not allowed to zip them all the way up. If you show up with a heavy or tight western style vest will not be allowed but Past recoil shields are allowed in Cowboy.

Tony,

I do not care if I zip the vest up at all. The shoulder pad and pockets will just make for a little less felt recoil and easier to carry around the rest of my stuff.

Paul, that is all we need them for. After I found out they were going to let us use shot gun vests I got one from Chris Winstead.
