Jerry and I along with the members of Winnsboro Gun Club want to thank everyone that attended the match this year. It as truly a once-in-a-lifetime weekend with fantastic weather and fabulous shooting. Not since 1993 when Troy Lawton won the Ford truck with the 40/40 have we had such shooting by so many individuals. I have to give a big tip of the hat to Elisabeth Steiger and Cathy Winstead Severin for shooting a pair of 39/40 scores in Match I Standard rifle. I could go on and on, but my memory fails me at this hour of the day; however, I would be remiss if I did not mention the truly great shooting job by Mallory in B Class. She was unbelievably cool and collected for a 9 year old! Great coaching job by Kitty! After all, it's all about the Spotta! Huh, Steiger and Innocent?

Thanks for all the great words and the support from ya'll. This match would just be another match without the BS from you guys. Jerry and I have a great time at the match as there is no pressure on us to perform on the firing line! We are both coming out of retirement for the Louisiana State match in September!

Thanks again to all that made it to Winnsboro and we are already planning 2010. I will be posting the official format after all the absentee ballots arrive from overseas! Seriously, Jerry and I are fine-tuning the way that we can speed this match up. We have coffee each morning and brainstorm. If you have any suggestions, PLEASE let us know.

As soon as I get all the "thank you" letters written to all the sponsors, I will be sure and get the results out to everyone and also on our web site

All that I have left to say is that 2010 and the 20th Anniversary match will be far superior to any match that we have hosted. We have been saving up many surprises for ya'll!

David and Jerry,
The thanks comes from us shooters to you and the entire crew. As for coming out of retirement...You should at least look good with that new vest, even if you can't geta good spotta. Seems as though the Steiger/Coates team was doing just fine as well, guess Pat and I are going to have to swap children more often. I'm looking forward to seeing Mallory progress, as well I might mention that Bryson (ReAnn Wilson's little brother, shooting his newly built Wooster CZ) shot the smallbore section of the Iron Man in Montana this last weekend and did well himself. So Mallory has some tough competition to keep her on her toes. Great to see these youngsters out there pushing some of us almost middle age folks.

You're going to top this in 2010?! This I gotta see!

Thanks for a great match that was an unbelievable amount of work. It looks like I'll get there for y'all to whup me this fall, and I'm looking forward to something a little more sedate, but knowing this crowd that may not work out.

Hey BB...don't worry in one more post you'll have your heart rate monitiored on this site anyway, so Lower Alabama (Louisana) states will be quite sedate.

A very large thank you to Ducky and Jerry and the rest of the crew, I was so glad I could be there to see such an amazing match put on again this year, and I can't wait till next year. I personally am shocked that BB would mention something so asinine and inconsiderate as any match with silhouette shooters being sedate, that is plainly preposterous and utterly inconceivable.

We may have different standards for "sedate" and "agitated"...
