Before anybody gets confused, I'm not Alan "MONGO" McCullogh. I'm Eric Harper. I'm the one with the coon tail attached to the back of my vest and the little grey coon mascot on the shooting stand. Oh, and also the one who kept the beer wagon functioning properly at Winsborro. (except for the CO2 incident that nobody could figure out)

I am cordially inviting all to the Louisiana State Championships to be held at the Winsborro Gun Club September 19 and 20, with practice on Friday the 18. This event is being put on by the East Ascension Sportsman League from Gonzales, LA. This is the first year anybody other than WGC will be hosting the State Championships. We are using this date as a substitute to the Arkansas Match for people who may have already planned vacation time for that date. David has been kind in offering the use of WGC for this event ^:)^ . Jerry Tureau will be the Match Director, Joe DuBoulay will be the Cheif Range Officer, and I will be the Cheif Statitician ~x( .

As this is our first time putting on a match of this caliber :ympray: , we are limiting registration to 120 entries. Everyone who attended The Southern Nationals should have recieved an entry form in their competitor packet with their score cards. Entry fee is $75 first gun, $25 second. Junior fees are $35 first gun, $15 second. Squadding request will be cut off August 14. The match will consist of two 40 round matches each day and an aggeregate match. The only promise I can make to everyone, at this time is, that it will be another chance to get together and socialize with your shooting buddies :ymparty: .

If anyone should need an entry, contact Joe(jeauxd on this board) or myself and we will email you one. The same with any questions you may have.

Hope to see as many of you as possible,

Eric

We have just been notified by the LSA that if you are already a member of LSA, if you provide a copy of your current LSA membership card with your application, you may deduct $10 from you entry fees.

For those who don't live in Louisiana, if you provide proof that you are a current member of your state's shooting association (a copy of your membership card), you too may also deduct $10 from your entry fees.

Many Thanks,

Eric

Gotta see what my fall schedule looks like, and see if I can carpool with someone else to share the driving load.

Question. We had to join LSSA to shoot the Southern Nationals. They usually send a card sometime during the year. Im coming down to shoot the LA state match. What can I do to prove my LSSA membership? Kitty

John PM sent.

All anyone has to do is provide a copy of their LSA membership card that has an expiration date after the match, OR, provide a copy of their own State Shooting Association membership card with an expiration date after the match.

Since the Southern Nationals was a Regional match this year, we did NOT send in any LSA memberships. If shooters did not understand this, I apologize. We will not be requiring LSA membership to the Southern Nationals as they will be Regional matches in the future.

Sorry Kitty!

Here is an update on the festivities of the match.

Since there will not be a team shoot Friday night, there will be no meal served. Competitors will be able to leave the range early, if they choose, and support an eatery of their choice in Winnsboro or surrounding area.

Dinner Saturday night will be a deeelishush chicken and sausage jambalaya supervised by Chef Tureau and cooked by his many sous chefs. This will be a BYOB(Bring Your Own Beverage) event. Thus, water, sodi-pops, and the adult beverage(s) of your choice must be brought by said consumer. The rules of alcoholic consumption will be the same as the Southern Nationals.

At this time, competitors will provide their own breakfast and lunch. You may have the option of purchasing a lunch from the target setters if they should choose to grill burgers and what not. I am awaiting a reply at the moment from them. I will let you know if they so choose.

Sunday's finishing time is estimated at roughly 5PM. Competitors not staying the night will get an early start home.

Once again, we are not trying to compete with the Southern Nationals, but offer another quality shoot where you can have a good time and be with good friends. Any shooters who are planning on coming, we would appreciate your early entries. If you need a registration form, PM me with your email and I'll send you one.

Hope to see all there.
