Lending 22lr ammo

Saw a pretty strange (or at least to me) topic at another shooting site. Basically the post was that the shooter would no longer "lend" 22lr ammo to shooters while at the range based on the low inventories at the local stores.
Honestly I was taken aback.
My experience since starting this sport (addiction, curse, endeavour,....) has been nothing but generous shooters constantly offering a helping hand to others. I can't count the amount of ammo & equipment me and my sons have been given, swapped, lent, gave & sold darn cheap. Lots of friendly helpful fellow shooters (enablers) taking an interest in "newbies". I love the "here try this........" we all participate in at the firing line. This is what the sport is about.
Once forgot my ammo at home so left range to get my "stash" (live 4 miles away) . When arriving back several shooters gave me grief for leaving saying they all had plenty. That is the kind of spirit I have taken for granted that exists in this sport.
Glad I don't shoot at that guy's range.

Pete,
I still lend...ammo, rifles, scopes etc. I might be a little slower about taking 14 boy scouts and 16 rifles, myself and better half, out for a few hours of shooting with 4000 rounds, to come home with only 250 rounds, only because the scout master was insisting that they were already 3 hours late returning to home.

The only down side to shooting someone elses ammo is you don't know how your rifle willshoot it. Seldom you will find someone with the same lot number that you shoot.

Tell me about it! I forgot my ammunition last Saturday and was four Rams deep before figuring out what scope adjustments to make. I got lucky and only needed two MOA elevation and the same windage.
Sharing ammunition has always been the norm among my group, and things would need to get a lot tougher before that changed. If I have it to share, I will.

Having a good spotter helped, I'll bet.

Wouldn't a good spotter have put 2+2 together after the second shot??

Considering the spotter was only 10 and blonde at that, 4 rams to walk into the target is pretty good....Of course when I got back from Texas I punished her for being so slow, I do expect more from my grandchildren......
