Australian CLAS Nationals - Monarto South Australia
Hello all,
Apologies for not being about much lately but work must come first every now and again....
We have just completed our 2009 National titles over the last weekend. A very good shoot with good weather. No doubt the good Lord was having a sleep in and missed the chance to whip up the usual cyclonic conditions that Monarto range is famous for.We were waiting all weekend to be struck down with knee bending winds but it simply didn't happen. I'm still a little nervous as I sit here typing this....
A big thankyou must go to Monarto Pistol Silhouette Club for hosting the shoot. As well "it saddens me greatly" to also extend that thankyou to the Ex Pom as without his brown nosing much of the behind the scenes work would have not have come about. Thankyou all.
We had a number of National records set during the three days, but keep in mind that this was only our second Nationals so the discipline is young and many scores are yet to be pushed to the limit. I have no doubt you will hear more about this as the other Ramslammers get home and tune into Steel Chickens for a bit of a chuckle at someones expense. I'm sure the Chairman will oblige at the very least.
Without skyting to much I'll just casually mention that the team destined for Raton later this year cleaned up all challengers. I'll leave it there as I'm sure you'll all hear more about it.
At this juncture I must point out that the Toad did not win any Ramslammer monies, it all stayed in South Australia...., therefore his crummy $16 win at Westbury is all the poor old Toad can show for all of his hard work and hot air. However he assures the brotherhood that once the .35 Rem is up and going that he will be shouting the beer from his winnings for every Ramslammer meeting for the forseeable future, we look forward to that.
I look forward to some lively posting within the next week or so.....
Regards to all,
Outback Mick

I had a good time and a big thanks to the SA blokes and all the others that it takes to put it all together. The shooters raffle table was great Thanks to SA state, RDT, & Nioa.
Trust me to save my worst for a Nationals, so I wont be talking scores, and someone make the voices go away.
All I hear is "You shot shit you shot shit"

Daisy,
You sure that isn't "You shot the shit, you shot the shit....now why didn't you focus on the shooting instead of the BS?"

Re: Australian CLAS Nationals - Monarto South Australia
Glad to hear you made it back Daisy, you just never know when you travel with a "brain injury brother" how things will turn out.
I suspect your poor/crap form was due to the lack of wind available to blow you onto the targets. I also apologise for clipping your long run record, I had intended to really give that job a real nudge, but I was unable to do so adding more credence to my new alias as the "Chicken Choker". However in my defence my lovely smelling team mate (work that out for yourselves)I'm almost sure didn't get any long runs all weekend.... That should get a drab/crass reply fairly quickly!
Just hoping all of the shooters got home safely and the ones still on the road have steady and safe trips. Apart from the Chairman, who will soon board the ferry back to the little island. The Captain of that vessel will once again notice that slight list to port or starboard, more puzzling to him will be the fact that the list shifts ever so slightly during the voyage as Juddy ambles from one side of the boat to the other.......
Brace yourselves US shooters it may come to pass (if a team is approved) that the Chairman could be included in next years Australian Team. Heaven help anyone else unlucky enough to be involved.

Hi All
Arrived home today.
Outback Mick (The Chicken Choker) forgot to mention that he choked on the 105th chicken in pistol cartridge for a new National record of 104.
Not all the Ram money stayed in S.A but it was kept within the team to Raton.

Sorry about that Bear, as you have been over our way so often lately we had pretty well adopted you into the clan, such as it is. Come to think of it being taken in by a desert dwelling chicken choking camel killing c*#^t and a stinking pom probably was not on your wish list as a child. I'll refrain from going any further down that path to save you the agony of thinking about it. I wish I could.
No response from our esteemed team mate, I suspect he is still sleeping off his multiple hangovers or cutting his .32/20 into jack handles. Man does he hate that rifle.
Can't wait for the torrent of abuse.....

Long runs are a minor part of the war,and just remember who won, i did get one of the long runs on real mans chickens not the ladys chickens, that one just compliments my record for rams.
Just one more thing outback it must be hard when you can't use your brother in law as a excuse for shooting s@#t, perhaps you should start practicing on targets that are near the size we shoot instead of camels.
I can't believe the number of 94 fancy tomato stakes on the line. when are they going to learn MARLIN is the only way to go if you want good scores

G'Day All my loyal subjects
For once and possibly never again your Chairman has given out one of the finest displays of modern day silhouette ever seen.
But at the end of the day I was up there with the rest. Let it be known that the Tasmanian Team of bad, bad,Leroy,The Toad and The Chairman were only beaten by a team of freaks (Outback Mick, The Pom and the Bear) they aren't normal people 6 fingers, 8 toes and 4 testicles. So really we came first. I wish to thank all who helped make it the great shoot it was and I hope we can get some shooters from USA in the future.
I think I'll be switching to a rifle as the 44 hits them anywhere from the neck to the knees(maybe I'll use the Toads 35rem for a while).
Shoot it to pieces then buy my own
.
Also Outback forgot to mention that he fell short of Fobis1's Australian record of 107 chooks by a total of 3 Shame,Shame,Shame. I'm sure the fat selector was smiling.
Hopefully someone with more computer skills will post the scores.

hi all
well i must also congratulate outback mick (mr squiggle ) and pommy dave along with the monarto pistol club
the shoot was a cracker.and food and drink was superb.
great weather and a very fine display of modern day silhouette shooting by my team mate and chairman but as we all know the shooter is only as good as his spotter and not bragging i did spot ramslammer and leroy to several medals.

Re: Australian CLAS Nationals - Monarto South Australia
Despite my many handicaps, especially the four testicles all I have to say is this;
Real long runs start when you reach triple figures. Nuff said.
Here are the scores from the top ten shooters (including nicknames), Rifle/80, Pistol Cal'/80, Smallbore/80 and 3 gun agg;
Dave McCarthy, Ex Pom - 71 - 64 - 67 = 202
Mick Hutton, Outback Mick - 58 - 68 - 54 = 180
Robert Tobler, Bear - 52 - 54 - 52 = 158
Andrew Judd, Ramslammer - 43 - 57 - 58 = 158
Peter Gurkin, Jerkoff - 56 - 51 - 48 = 155
Greg Miller - 45 - 61 - 49 = 155
Ted Chambers, Toad - 50 - 54 - 46 = 150
Bill Mutch, Munchie - 54 - 54 - 40 = 148
Daniel MacDonald, Taps - 47 - 51 - 49 = 147
Rod Pascoe - 39 - 61 - 47 = 147
If I have got anything wrong then tough.

hi all
Hows things MBH. I gather some of you will work out who it is from the name. To those that dont ask Outback, I went to school with him.
I think you were all a bit cruel, picking on the poor bloke with the shirt full of loose ribs.
Just a bit of info for all. The FNQ arm of SSAA will be the proud owners of a bunch of lead infected pistol Cart sillywet shooters in the next few months. I have volunteered the shoot captancy job as I felt it was time we joined the fun. sorry to say we are limited to pistol cart and r-fire. But you gotta start somewhere.
Good shooting to all that made it to Monarto, some rather impressive scores.
Look forward to reading some other peoples accounts of the match. Comon truck killer.
regards from FNQ

To Russ4570,
I didn't kill the truck , just twisted it a bit . Both trailers are almost straight , just suffering from a bit of gravel rash to the left hand sides . Bored sh*tless sitting at home unable to do much . I s'pose I could get someones brand new crony out and do some load testing.
