Practice makes perfect !

We can't always get out with our favourite rimfire,

especially when the weather is bad in Winter,

but you can generally re-arrange the washer and the dryer, and the wife's shoe racks to make up a 10mtr range, and shoot some paper silhouette with the airgun. (sorry, no offence meant, Mary)

Practising with a relatively low power recoiling spring gun is the ideal way to go.

There's all sorts of targets available on the Net.

I generally shoot at 10mtr and 50ft scaled down targets.

I do more shooting at home than on the range.
Sad isn't it, but then I can never find 10 friends to send on those chain e-mails that threaten you an everlasting life in hell if you don't, either, so I'm just waiting for armageddon to arrive any day now.
Anyway,
Here's this weeks effort from my Air Arms springers on scaled down at 15yds, with the real thing for scale.

I always seem to get that fluoro orange spray on my fingernails.
Must admit I do get some funny glances down at my favourite bar, the 'Village People' !
cheers,

Sean,
Try some bright pink paint and maybe you will not get such funny looks from the local bar.
I have finally gotten most of the plywood out of the living room (raod trips to matches take priority over home remodelling), so I can run a 10 meter range through the living room down the hall...but then the weather has been beatiful here so no need to shoot indoors.
Still nice looking shot groups though...tough competition.

Sorry for the delay, Ricardo,

but it takes a long time to get to me here down under :D

I use an Air Arms ProSport underlever spring-gun, in .177, running at 15 ft/lbs, for silhouette, at 12x, and my scores are much the same as with my PCP gear at 26ft/lbs, and 15x.

Great to practice with at 10mtrs, as well, on the scaled down targets. They have good balance, very consistent output, and a great adjustable trigger.

Gamo to Air Arms, is like comparing a no-name .22 to an Anschutz54.

Here's a pic of the rifle;

I had my air rifle out too today, its hard to find ammo so I shot the air rifle a bit. I shoot a 30 year old R 1 with a Theoben gas ram set at 21 ft pounds in 22 caliber and a Theoben Elimenator in 22 caliber also but that one shoots at 32 ft pounds a bit much to cock for any lenght of time but it sure wacks the day lights out of anything it hits.

Those are powerful suckers, Malinois. Not for the faint hearted.

The Air Arms is bad enough to cock at 15 ft/lbs.

Bob, I like to shoot my 30yr old Weihrauch HW35 as often as I can, just for fun.
It's only 7.5 ft/lb, but very accurate still with JSB S100 match pellets.
I use the JSB Exact 4.52 in my ProSport and TX200 .

I have a walnut stock for the ProSport also. Nice n pretty wood, but the beech has a bit more of a 'meaty' feel to it.
I prefer to shoot it in the beech.

I just give them a good wipe over with waterproofing beeswax. Does the job.

No kidding my friend those suckers are tuff to cock especially the Theoben.....usally its the R-1 I reach for when I shoot the air rifles but the power of the Theoben is a beautiful thing.........It really sends the silhouettes flying and it will bend chickens and crater rams...I sometimes shoot the 22 silhouettes with them...it surprizes people that you can shot an airgun that far.
