I will say this much about it in public: The Democrats will have their hands full with the economy and won't have the energy or political capital to pick a fight with the NRA - at least for awhile. Probably later, like two years down the road if the economy is doing better, but not right away. If nothing else it would give Republicans too big a club.

Lets hope.....

If I'm right, the worst that can happen is the economy recovers sooner rather than later, but even then then they have to buck the Republicans and NRA, and they may remember what happened the last time they pushed that too far. Thankfully, what a politician would like to do and what they're able to do are frequently two different things.

If I were lobbying for a gun company, I'd make sure everyone knew how many jobs were contributed to the economy and the steps we were taking to make guns safe and keep them in the proper sales channels.
