I've been looking at the colorado state NRA approved match schedule and there are a few things I have noted, one of them being different match formats. We do mostly 40 shot matches here local. When we have a one day regional we do (2) 60 shot matches. Most state matches I attend seem to be (2) 40 shot matches in each rifle, I think the Natties are (3) 40 shot matches in each rifle.
I think the thing with the guys in PA shooting all those 60 shot matches comes from the Omish, something about doing what 'we' do 50% more!
