fellow silhouette shooters... Has any one tryed using the Jackson two stage trigger. I spoke to tech at sinclair international and he said he liked it. I also emailed mark pharr and he replyed that most shooters like the trigger but at $300 bucks you could buy A lot of bullets to practice.I love the 2 stage anschutz triggers in my rimfire silo rifles. I own a two stage jewell but its not the same as A anschutz. Jewell triggers are very good but I have trouble breaking the trigger. what rifle do you aim to put it on? If by chance it is a rem700 action then Briley makes an adapter to hang the 5018/5022 trigger off your action. I wanted to use the CG trigger for my SB rifle but alas the us importer/assembler of the CG product does not import the parts for the finnfire. He focuses on Rem700, RPA quadlite and the winchester versions. I am sorry I have no first hand experience with them but a friend of mine said the following: The GC is a very light two stage - better feel and release than an AW if I can compare them. First stage almost featherweight pull, quite long, then you meet 2nd stage, the release is creep free and very crisp. Trigger has easy to read instruction sheet on how to ajust the two stages, they work in union with each other (you have to read the sheet to see what I mean) I like it, I prefer two stage triggers, I plan to retrofit all my Rem 700's with this trigger unit.

The CG Jackson trigger is made in two versions with and without a safety. The one without costs $300 retail and the one with safety for use in Hunting rifle class cost $330 plus shipping charges. I have one of each on my HP rifles and I like them a lot.

They are very well made and will attach to Remington actions and others that accept the Remington triggers. On the long run they are a better investment than doing an Anschutz conversion because if you do not use the Briley which also requires modifications to the adapter you would need to find a knowledgeable gunsmith to adapt the Anschutz trigger to your action which would require milling the trigger and also the action. So if you figure the price of the Anschutz trigger, Briley adapter and or direct modifications, the CG Jackson trigger is less expensive proposition by a long shot.

With the CG Jackson trigger there are no modifications to the action and its easy to adjust. Some of the fellow HP silhouette shooters from the Pacific North West are already using them and the feed back regarding the CG Jackson trigger has been good.

I just finish installing 4 of them on Rem. 700, 3 for the local Houston shooters, and 1 for a shooter in Arizona. I have two more, one for myself, and another for a customer also in Arizona.
Personally, I think it is the best thing that happen in Silhouette competition since the Parr stocks.
I will have a couple of them at the Texas State smallbore match, Memorial Day weekend in El Paso.

Gentlemen thank you for your replys I read up on the brileys when they first started installing them on the rem actions with the 1808 anschutz triggers.My reading found the trigger to delicate for high power. I will be installing the jackson trigger on rem 700 action. The rifle was built by Mark Pharr chambered in 260 Theodore. I must say that mark builds state of the art rifles. the rifle is extremely accurate. Here goes $330 bucks for A new trigger. Thank you God Bless America

Are the CGs as adjustable as the Annie trigger as far as first and second stage weight setting are concerned? I had read that they were not and thought that the first stage had to be lighter than the second.

The C J trigger can be adjusted for first and second stage pull, it even comes with additional springs that can be changed to what ever weight you want. It is tricky to adjust, it actually has 5 different adjustment screws, but the directions are very clear on how to do it. It will drop right on the Rem. 700 action with no modification, but the stock will have to be open up in the safety side, and also in the front of the trigger. The trigger guard will also have to be open up, for the bolt release lever to clear, but this lever is not really required.

Installed one on my daughter's Nesika right after "Conard Cup" and she shot a personal best hunter rifle score at Pe Ell the next weedend. Was easy to install and user friendly to adjust.

Be warned that the CG Jackson trigger is not a hair trigger like the Anschutz, the range of adjustments being 1.1 to 3.5 lbs.

lone ringer again I say thankyou to you and all the other shooters that responded to my question. 17 oz. to 3+ lbs is more then enough range of trigger weight for me.however can you adjust the trigger that most of the weight is on the first stage. let us say for A hunter class rifle app. 28 oz first stage and 4oz more to break ?. If that is possible it will be the cats meow. thank you Anthony G

You are welcome Anthony G, I doubt if you are going to be able to get the second stage and final stage to break in just a few ounces I would say is around 1 lb, get one play with the adjustments and see what you can do.

Warning; stay away from screws 12 and 13 that are already adjusted from the maker and ask him to give you a spare heavy first stage spring so that you do not have to take the trigger apart to use the one that is inside the trigger housing.

At the risk of heresy, I prefer nice, crisp single stage triggers. Blame my deprived childhood.

So I should expect a surplus of 5018 triggers on the market soon, now that all the ones hanging on Rem 700s are going to be replaced? Hmm.. good thing to keep in mind.
