Thought I would show you all a press that a friend of mine picked up at a yard sale in Wisconsin last year. Was new in the tattered box, unused. The lady said it was her late husbands and that is all she knew about it. The price was $20. firm! He dropped by the house after his trip and asked me if I wanted it. I quickly gave him the $20 bucks before he changed his mind. I unbolted my old Herters Rifleman press that I got as a kid, and mounted this beauty to a solid inch thick aluminum plate. The label on the front of it was brittle and disintegrated when I was handling it. All it said was Texan. It appears to be of 50's-60's vintage. It does not quite have the leverage to FL size a max expanded .30-06 (got to use both hands) , but is super for the Hornet, .38 & .357, .45acp. & .30/30. The center ram post is 1 3/16 dia. To say it is a robust press is an understatement. Does anyone here have one? What were the production years of this press and any history of the company? http://s190.photobucket.com/albums/z94/ ... Holy smoke! What a clean , well organized loading bench. That press is very cool.

The only bad thing about the deal is the thought that someday all my stuff will be sold for $20 firm when I kick it!! Maybe we should leave of list of what stuff really costs for our wives so they won't sell it for pennies

I've thought the same thing Dee. When I kick the bucket I can see my rifles and pistols being sold by my daughter for a fraction of their worth.

I think I'm more determined now to make a will giving my grandson my guns and writing a few notes about each one.

Darn, I still can't get over how clean and orderly that loading bench is.

Yesterday I lost my shooting glasses on mine.

On the other hand, if my stuff is sold cheap and helps someone enjoy the sport, that's good too. Just don't rush me...

I had someone over on Sunday that was looking to purchase some reloading equipment.... He asked to see my dillion 650 and I had to DECLINE...LOL. That is how bad a shape my reloading room / bench is in! I didn't want to the guy looking at my mess and running for the hills!

You guys think his reloading room is clean? you should see his rifles. They look like the nurse just cleaned them up and got them ready for their first meal.

Thats not a work bench its a display case Oh to get my shop into such organization, I would be afraid to move anything once it was all in place.

Nice! (although I am interested in the bench as the Mrs is letting me change the garage to my toy room-A/C, heat and all)


Back to the press:
That thing's a beauty, I'm amazed it doesn't have better leverage.

I'm sure JB's comment about the Mayflower is true, as cabin boy he probably had to stow it
