Rose distributing is now offering a 125 gr copy of Hornady’s HAP target bullet. $0.15/ea for 1000. The 125 and 158 jacketed shoot just fine for $0.14/ea

Their swaged price includes shipping and they don’t collect sales tax.

Their swaged lead bullets are even cheaper and being swaged, won’t have any air voids like a cast bullet may have.

been using the Zero (Rose) 158 hp bullet for years. still the best value around. i have never had any problems with Rose. my rifles like the 158 gr bullet over the 125 gr bullet.

The Hornady xtp's are pretty hard to beat where accuracy is concerned.

Not new but also worth a try as a Ram load.

Montana bullets offers a 230g FN from a NOE mold. I recently gave this a try in our 73’s. On a calm day they produced just under 5” groups at 200 and showed signs of destabilization. The best powder seemed to be 7.2g LilGun for 1043fps. I had no pressure signs. The Ubert’s have a listed twist of 18.75 so I believe if one had a faster twist or stronger action to push them a little faster this bullet could be a mild recoil, exceptional Ram killer loaded in .357mag

Here’s a 230g NOE bullet on my wishlist. I dig the tiny flat nose, tumble lube groves, and BC1 0.32. Regrettably, they’re sold out.

Find me a 92 with a 24” or longer barrel, weighing 8lbs or more, chambered in 357 with a 1-16 twist or faster and I’m in. Henry (not a 92) has the twist rate, the weight, just not a long enough barrel. A new factory 92 with a 28” , 1-15 twist, Octagon barrel would be real nice. May as well include a drilled and tapped receiver and tang, short magazine, slightly higher than normal comb and hard rubber shotgun style butt. oh and a nice 2.5lb trigger.

Several cast bullet companies make truncated cone polymer coated bullets for 357. I have used them for years, mostly 125 gr and 180 gr. Cheap and available, good function in lever guns. Missouri bullets, T&B Bullets, Brazos, Acme, etc . Mild loads with the 180 gr will take 100m pigs and 150m turkeys also. Usually $110 to $130 per thousand.

It's great to have lots of options to try.
