Significant changes don’t come often in .22 rimfire. I guess there isn’t a lot one could significantly change, so it seems a sort of boattail bullet is significant. Has anyone given this new ammo a try? It’s pricey but seems currently available.

I found it but the shipping was as much as the ammo so I passed.... Interesting but sure is expensive as my search found it from 20 to 25 a box....

Pricey and I don't think it'll matter for silhouette. No doubt the PRS crowd will know if it's worth it.

We are shooting air rifle silhouette targets with rimfire rifles at 100M at Bayou Rifle in Houston. Pretty dicey at times in the South Texas wind.,.. LOL
Doubt it will shoot any better than Lapua LR or Midas but....

The shooting for ammo testing and load development is half the fun. It’s nice to occasionally reassure myself the gun and ammo still shoot great it’s me that becomes the sporadic variable on game day.

I have a shooter friend here in Phoenix who has been testing the new Norma Extreme Long Range .22 ammo. He said the results have not been good in his rifles. This does not mean it wont' shoot in your rifle.

It saves money when expensive ammo and liquor don’t pass your taste or needs test.

Merlin, did you ever test or use the ammo? Any chance of it performing well on Pistol Cartridge rams?

I did test a couple of lots of the Norma XLR. I tried it in 2 factory CZ MTRs, 2 CZ rifles with Shilen Ratchet barrels and a Stiller 2500XR. It worked a little better in the Stiller than then others and shot very close to what CCI standard generally shoots. At $22.00 per box it was a Huge disappointment.
No exaggeration... For ME it sucked large.

That is disappointing. Five boxes just arrived on my front porch. Hope I have better results, it would be darn pricy pig ammo.

43g bullet at 1312 FPS is 'extreme'. I can't imagine it shooting precisely from such a small case.

Sounds like something that might work well in a 14 twist barrel

1165fps and a 43gr bullet is the advertised data.
