Wanted: LH Anschutz 54MS stock
I tried to refinish mine and it came out horrible. Beech wood is a nightmare. Looking for pristine factory stock. thanks

So a little history on me. About 25 years ago my 1813L needed to be cleaned up a little. I tired for 2 weeks to get the wood even. I finally gave up and painted it. I used to do autobody. In 2017 my father passed. He had an 1813 as well. I restored his it came out awesome! I guess I got lucky. So I decided to refinish my 54MS. Working with beech sucks. I had done over a dozen rifles that all came out awesome. Well not this one. Here is my dads.

With beech I've has my best results with water based stain. Then an oil finish on top.
