Summer Travel
I thought I would share our experience traveling from Phoenix to Kansas city last week.
We pull a fifth wheel camper so campgrounds are where we stay. Interestingly, every campground we stayed at except Whittington was full, and it is only May. We managed to secure the last camp sight at both Grants, NM and Dodge City, KS. In Dodge, the owner told us he has been full up every night since March 1. He also said he has numerous people who have new RV's who have never camped before.
I'm mentioning this because a lot of you will be traveling to matches this summer. You would be well advised to plan your trip way ahead or risk not having a place to stay. America has been cooped up for a year and people want to get out and do things again.
Whittington Center has a full slate of matches scheduled this summer, so cabins, competitor housing, and maybe even campsites will be at a premium. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Re: Summer Travel
hermit,
Prices never really got that bad. It's under $3/gal most places and availability is still not back to normal, but not hard to find.
If the 1st station you stop at is empty, the next one (or two) will likely have it.
I'm certainly not having to hoard or run around to find it now.
