Maurice Bergevin

Post by RBriscoe »

It is with regret I report the passing of long time rifle silhouette shooter Maurice “Bud” Bergevin, known to many in the Texas shooting community. He passed last night and went to be with the Lord.

There is nothing more to report at this time. I shall miss my friend.

I met Maurice when I lived in San Antonio. He was one hell of a nice guy.
If I remember correctly, he attended either an Arizona State championship or a National championship in Phoenix quite a few years ago.
I will also miss him.

Maurice’s son lives in Phoenix and so he would go over there to shoot in the Arizona state match and visit. The last few years he was less able to do so. He and I shot at Nationals at Ben Avery a couple of times.

Very sad news, Maurice was a great guy. The very first highpower match I shot was at CTSA in October of 1978. He will be missed.

RIP Maurice. I remember lots of shoots down south including the sausage shoot.
