Trying a 100gr 32-20 Hornaday subsonic load for PC today. Hopefully it will work out with sight settings and recoil like 22lr.

Using VV-32C, 52% case fill, helps keep from making double charge and no powder position problems.

Here’s a couple more 25-20 loads.
75gr Speer over 12-13gr Reloder 7 - this is a double base powder and I get good accuracy at low pressures with it. It’s a small stick powder that meters well. I lite it up with a CCI 400. Velocity is in the 1725 FPS neighborhood. I specified the 12-13g range because my testing proved moa accuracy for 12’ 12.5, and 13g. I meter 12.5G with confidence.

60gr Hornady over 9.5g LilGun - LilGun is my CLA powder for reduced loads and I tried it in 25-20 and found 3/4” accuracy at 100m. It meters like water in my Star Universal reloader. Trouble is the 2200 FPS velocity is too fast for most targets except AR500 steel, which brings me to the next load. Again CCI 400’ light this one up.

60gr Hornady over 3.5G Titegroup - this does shoot like a HV 22lr. Just a pop but, velocity is 1325 FPS. 100 meter accuracy is 1-1/2” but the bullet’s BC is horrible, 0.1. Wind blows this around like there’s a parachute attached. I like the idea of replicating this load with N32c or Trailboss. I use Federal SP match primers

I did find my box of store bought 72g gas checked lead bullets. I bought them from Montana Bullet Works. They’re not cheap at $26/100. I weighed a large sample and they’re very uniform so you get what you pay for. I haven’t taken time to develop a load but if I did, I’d follow 35Remington’s advice on the Marlin reloading forum for the Lyman 72g GC and melt the wax off and tumble lube them. I imagine 12gr Reloder 7 would work fine.

Uniform neck tension and brass life is important to me. So I anneal case necks every 3rd firing after they’ve been thoroughly cleaned in ultrasonic bath.

Edge Hit, very valuable information.

I think you will be happy with 32c, but you might consider bumping up your velocity to 22 mag levels, maybe 1600+ fps. might solve most of your problems. I would also recommend using a Rem 6 1/2 primer or a small pistol magnum or even a Fed 205m (they are soft) small rifle primer.
