New PC Rifle

Bought a Winchester '92 in 357 and a week or so later a 1894cl in 25-20.
I know I stepped into it ammunition cost wise with the 25-20.
Only put through a couple hundred various loads so far but I've started thinking about selling the '92 .

The centerfire rifle/carbine on the right is most definitely not a Winchester.
It has the Marlin-esque protrusion that the lever attaches to.

My apologies, see edit, that is the 1894cl and a H001T.
I said thinking about selling.

It is about a 1894cl in 25-20.
The 357 is only a comparison in the topic.
The 25-20 is much more fascinating than the more common 357.

Will a subsonic 86 gr bullet knock down Rams consistently?
I'm pretty sure the same bullet with a MV of 1400fps will.

Other stuff to consider.

Tim, we are hosting the Calif. State match at LASC, next year.

Hope you can make it, dates are May 22nd, 23rd and 24th, that is Friday/Saturday/Sunday of Memorial Day weekend of 2020.

We are leaving Memorial Day (Monday) open for people to travel.

Going to have a free raffle/door prize this time of a Henry Rifle, 22 Mag or equivalent gift certificate to Buds Guns, still working out the details.

Yes it should... on "most PC free standing rams".... what are you calling sub-sonic? 1100-1200? Should be no problem. 800fps... meh.... resetables... you can edge hit and ring those with a 357 depending on the setup.

FWIW the wifes 25-20 is a 60gr jacketed soft point traveling +/- 1400 and it falls everything she hits.

Like Emmett said, shouldn’t be a problem.
Good luck, Dennis

Great range day today with the rifle.
An 86gr MBC over 3.5 gr of Trail Boss does knock down 1/2 size Rams.
Even with rump, shoulder or foot hits. Average MV 1136fps.
10 g of H4198 under the same bullet mv 1458 fps works too. Less adjustment.
The New Ranger Point Precision trigger is great.
Trying out a New to me 1953 336A in 35rem for Lever Action. Trigger on this one is great also.
