At first glance this looked like "The" lever gun cartridge of the future. At 2nd glance I discovered:
It is a .223 case with a straight wall - not a rimmed case. Its more like a 9mm Long Rifle.
I kinda suspect this one will not be legal for Lever Action matches.

This is nothing more than a 357 Maximum rimless has been around for years. Starline sells the 223 basic brass. If they build a 24" barreled lever for this round. You have a viable rifle for short and long range.

Rebated rim already ruled a no-go... Sorry.

I remember when the win. 375 round was supposed to be the end of the 30-30. It's a vague memory to most now.

An undated letter from Aaron Farmer stated that the 308MExp "will not be allowed for the 2018 Nationals".
It also said that "This issue will be brought up to the Silhouette committee as a topic for discussion, and hope to come up with a solution during this years' committee meeting".
Does anybody have a document that includes the outcome of said meeting, or if it still awaits consideration?

I believe it is a non starter issue as no one has brought it up again. Most shooters agreed it's not a cartridge anyone wants used.
